Official 2017-2018 Knicks season thread

Mans in his third season & most likely still adjusting to the NBA schedule. Got enough to worry about without having to think of KP's durability just yet.

I'll say one thing, if he ends up rewriting this all too soon fragile narrative and continues to improve, we could be looking at the G.O.A.T. Knick (don't come for me old heads in here). He's not the fastest guy so I think he'd do well to improve his overall strength and work on his face up dribble. I've seen too much fumbling and bumbling when he's attempting to put some moves on a face up matchup.

If and that's a big if, he puts up numbers even comperable to Ewing and wins a championship, I think it would be a no brainer.

I think we might just save money this time around. Perry doesn’t seem like the type to just blow money. Remember, THJR was dumbass Mills fault, and Ron Burgandy was Phil’s.

Yeah I think and hope that's right.

Part of it is Dolan not getting too excited about this team. Keep him out of it and don't let him think they're in contention.

I really like Jarred Vanderbilt in the lower lotto range but his foot injury might be a significant setback. There are some decent players in that range though. Miles Bridges is expected to go in that 10 range given how loaded the top 5 currently is.

I'd kill a man for Doncic though. Kid is a prodigious talent. Like the European Lebron minus being a douchebag. Anybody who considers passing him up for the 1st pick would be a moron blinded by NCAA hype IMO.

Dude is a starter for Real Madrid putting up ridiculous all around numbers (leading them in scoring and assists and his per-36 numbers are off the charts) at 18. Led Slovenia to the Gold in EuroCup also.

He's the best Euro prospect of all-time, by far, including Porzingis who I loved pre-draft. Mark my words.

Yeah Doncic is the goods

I like the idea of pairing Frank with a scoring guard like Collin Sexton

Enes Kanter finds his nightly motivation by scrolling Twitter looking for slights or obstacles

The Knicks’ emotional leader doesn’t just get his extra edge from natural adrenaline.

Enes Kanter also uses his phone.

The Knicks center, like any functioning millennial, finds his information on social media. So sometimes he’ll scroll on Twitter and see LeBron James playfully tossing a water bottle on the Garden court (Kanter really hated that). Or, sometimes a fan will send him a stat that really riles him up.

“I read Twitter comments and I saw we did not win a game against the Clippers since 2012,” Kanter said. “Those are the things that just fire me up before the game.”

Kanter and the Knicks ended that drought Monday, when they pummeled the Clippers at the Garden and the 25-year-old was in usual workhorse form — 12 points, 16 rebounds and a handful of quotables in the locker room. Kanter is rapidly becoming a New York fan favorite, and the fact that he’s openly inviting fans to rile him up only adds to his reverence.

On Tuesday, Kanter played to those emotions again while further explaining his issue with LeBron’s bottle-flipping antics at the end of Cleveland’s blowout victory last season. Kanter wasn’t on the Knicks at the time, but he took it more personally than any anybody on the roster.

“I saw that last year and I was like, ‘That’s just disrespectful,’ ” Kanter said. “It doesn’t matter. I know I was not here. But I saw that, I just got so (ticked). I was like, ‘C’mon, you cannot do that. It doesn't matter who you are, you cannot do that. That’s really disrespectful.’ ”

Kanter has managed, somewhat miraculously, to make everybody forget that Willy Hernangomez doesn’t play much anymore. He has made Joakim Noah’s albatross contract easier to see on the inactive list.

And in the biggest upset, Kanter has been a very capable defender. Not surprisingly, he found outside motivation to reach that level.

“Defense was my focus coming out here because there were all these comments, that, ‘Oh, he can score the ball. Offensively he’s at an All-Star level but defensively he’s bad,’ ” Kanter said. “I just wanted to prove all the haters wrong. My thing was coming here and being really focused on defense because I knew I was going to score the ball.”

Kanter isn’t short on enthusiasm or opinions. As LeBron said about him: “He’s always got something to say.”

The personality works great so long as he continues to produce — and the Knicks continue to win.

There are plenty of guys in the draft that could help us out. Obviously you want the best of the best but a low lotto pick wouldn't upset me as much because I think this draft is full of talent.

For ***** and giggles though here are some guys I'm high on. Moreso lower lotto guys. If you wanna see quick highlights on college ball players check out Frankie Vision on Youtube, his highlight vids show you the good and bad.

NY would love Bridges. Kids toughness is unmatched. Forces the issue too much sometimes, but that's because he's a #1 option right now. He'd be perfect as the 3rd best player on an NBA roster. Still think he goes top 7.
