Official 2017-2018 Knicks season thread

I'll tune back in when Frank or Mudiay turn into a starter. As for now just gonna be checking box scores making sure we lost

All I want is for someone to pan out past rotation player level on this team.

Hornacek is a guy who takes already developed guys and can slot them into whatever role they are suited for. Hence why his Phoenix squad did so well at first. He'd be better off on a team that has guys who have talent and some years to their careers.

We need someone whose more about taking unfinished products and helping them find a role and can tolerate them messing up. We honestly might need a rah rah type of coach compared to an X's and O's specialist.

I'm starting to see why Curry and his teammates got so much love for Mark Jackson even with his questionable on court decisions.

I know it doesn't mean much but it's kinda dope seeing all these superstar players tweeting @ Porzingis wishing him well.

Didn't know he was that well respected around the league.

NBA League Pass already took the last payment from my account so I’m gonna watch every single game and get my money’s worth

I'll be watching as well. As long as they're not getting blown out, regardless of who's on the squad, I can watch the Knicks otherwise I'm turning the channel. Finally get a chance to watch Mudiay play

i can no longer watch the games anymore... i will occasionally flip the channel to the game but i wont be watching anymore from start to end... i hope we get a good draft pick and dont draft a project again like frank... such a waste of time and a waste of a draft pick :smh:

https://nypost.com/2018/02/09/the-shot-that-can-take-knicks-emmanuel-mudiay-to-next-level/

“He’s not a bad shooter — he’s a bad finisher,’’ Jeffries said. “That’s why his field-goal percentage is a big focus. If he becomes a better finisher — something very possible — his whole game transforms. Take out his layups, he’s not a bad shooter. If he’d finish at a 60 percent clip, he’d be 48 [percent] from the floor.”

Indeed, Mudiay is fourth-worst in the league in field goal percentage on layups (45 percent). Mudiay also happens to be a good free-throw shooter (80 percent this season).

As The Post reported Wednesday, the Knicks sought Orlando’s Elfrid Payton as they looked for a big penetrating point guard who can dish to complement Kristaps Porzingis.

“He’s big and gets to the rim,’’ Jeffries said of Mudiay. “But the best finishers in the league — Tony Parker, Kyrie Irving — are over-the-top finishers with a softness to their shot and they shoot with their hands under the ball. Scoop, rolling layups are difficult and easier to get altered or blocked. Maybe he didn’t work at it enough at a young age because he didn’t go to college.’’

#TankWatch 2/9/18

A lot of games tonight but not many that directly affect us.

- Hornets W (@ Jazz) gives us a 1.5 game cushion between 9th & 10th
- Bulls W (vs Wolves) puts us 3 GB of 8th
- Kings W (vs Blazers) puts us 4 GB of 3rd

I honestly think we have the potential to get towards the top

Only 5.5 games back for the worst record and 26 games to go

Key games upcoming are against Magic (2.22), Kings (3.4), Mavs (3.13), Bulls (3.19), amd two matchups against the Hornets (3.17 & 3.26)

All must lose games for positioning

The way we’re currently constructed, if we start to push the youth movement, we could easily lose every single game

Wouldn’t be mad at all

If we didn't start off so well we'd be very much in play for Doncic or whoever.

We have the worst record in the league over the last 6 weeks.

Dame with 50 in 3 quarters.

Wish there was a way we could pick him up without giving away all of our assets.

He'd flourish under the Garden lights.

Just imagine we are about to trade for dame and a few people in this thread find out Franks involved in the trade.
So what? It'd be goodbye Frank.

Dame better than all these bum pgs dudes in here been d-riding.

No point in discussing it though cuz Dame aint coming here especially without giving up all of our assets which isn't much anyway.

Guess yall regressing back to that pie in the sky Knicks mentality. Love talking about a rebuild but nobody really wanna rebuild.
