we lost joe johnson? smfh its getting ugly fast on the heat. we're about to lose tyler johnson, we're losing joe johnson, we're losing bosh most likely, we're probably losing deng. WHAT. THE. ****. We'll have a starting 5 and 2 towel boys to play with."DA:
Utah agrees to terms with Joe Johnson on a two-year, $22 million deal, per league source.

whiteside hasnt officially signed yet though right? you think the contract will be less up front go up each year to keep wade? and is there a max % that the yearly salary can go up? example.. like if we paid whiteside 15mill for his first year can it jump $22mill or is there a % that we have to keep?
@theScore:
The Lakers have reportedly reached an agreement with Luol Deng on a 4-year, $72M deal. http://thesco.re/29aBpSO
oh i never disagreed with your point. ive been saying we need to dip into the luxury tax as soon as whiteside took the max. we have pretty much no bench right now. its either dip into luxury tax or essentially tank this season. thats the bottom lineNow you see my point in resigning Whiteside to a massive max contract and having Dragic on the team for $17mil and Bosh sitting in on the bench in a 3 piece suit making $23.7 million dollars but Wade was only offered $10mil
Wade at this point is as good as gone.
The way luxury tax works in the NBA is, owners have to come out of pocket using their own money to pay those fees. They don't use the excess money that the organization has because when the NBA does auditing, the league would fine that owner or possibly remove him from the NBA. So there for Mickey has to pay $10mil plus plus interest out of his own personal bank account just for Wade to stay.
There is no "in Pat Riley I trust" over here. This situation we're in is totally screwed up. We have Whiteside but most likely no Wade and possibly no Bosh... That can't be the blueprint.
where is our bench tho? all we got left really is green and stat, mcroberts, wright, richardson. and theres been no word on whether were keeping anyone mentioned. i dunno what their contract situations are, but.... if this is our bench, we're screwedRelax guys. Wade isn't going anywhere.
so much panic
Relax guys. Wade isn't going anywhere.
There's nothing to break down really bro. We just gotta let stuff play out. **** can change in a matter of seconds. Riley and those guys who have time and time again found a way to make.moves with the salary cap wouldn't have came.into.the off season with no plan and for.**** just to fall apart like this. I trust them to make something happen. The numbers say otherwise. How do you see this happening? Or can you atleast break it down?
this...He's not gonna leave over 2 MIL. Especially when we offer no state tax.
wtf is this accurate? dorrell wright is making 17k a year? ive GOTTA be reading that wrongSo this is how I keep up with all the HEAT/NBA salary caps.

It seems the HEAT prefer to give Wade a 1yr 18M contract. Everyone is offering him 1yr 20M. Real chance he might leave guys.

Got it from this salary cap whiz. It's all they have left to give him.Where did you see the Heat are offering Wade $18mil?
And if they're, say good by to any other free agents. It's all vet minimums and D-Leaguers after that...
I think because of his age and everything, Wade wants one last contract to satisfy his needs before he retires in 2-3 years. He deserves it! He can't keep playing on a 1 year salary, that's just not fair to him.
If it is unsuccessful in its pursuit of Kevin Durant, Heat currently has $18.9M in cap room left for Dwyane Wade (incl. Johnson and Weber).

With an $18.9M starting salary, Heat could pay Wade: (i) $39.2M over 2 years, (ii) $61.0M over 3 years, or (iii) $84.2M over 4 years.
