OFFICIAL 2015-2016 College Football Season Thread

Doesn't really matter...even if we change for the sake of change we'll end up with another mediocre coach. We're not getting a guy like Herman or Chip Kelly. So I'm stuck in a stalemate where we have a coach we'll lose as soon as he gets a HC offer at the NFL level or we fire him and settle for another unproven up-and-coming coach. I'm not married to the idea either direction. Like I said, I've settled on what we are and will always be.

But when Sumlin goes 7-5 next year (in a year everybody was expecting for us to compete for a playoff spot), what will Sumlin supporters say then? He already ran off our only chance at being good next year...whether you wanna view that as Allen or Murray. Did you see Hubenak tonight? Terrible.

Wisky gets screwed on that TD

That's exactly why I think we should just see what Sumlin can do
If that's case, I'm good with that. As long as you don't think Sumlin is the long-term answer.

At this point, we're no better off whether we fire him this year or give him another one or two years. We'll continue to be mediocre and not be competitive against good teams either way.

People are saying Meachum is the next OC. No way he makes that move

My mom totally called that interception after the field goal.. She is the most nervous person ever when it comes to sports, and she just said the Badgers will intercept and then she went to clean the dishes

Badgers blew it with the timeout on the third down to challenge the review,.... They could have ran an extra 20 seconds off the clock.

The last play of the Kessler era sums it up. 4th and 10, and he dumps it on a 5 yard out to the sideline. Overthrows causing his receiver to go out of bounds.

What a ******* loser, #byefelicia.

Kessler era over. Helton era begins *welp*. Might become an alcoholic.

I don't even want to think about it and I'll hold off until he gets his staff together. As of now, he looks under prepared. He could start his coaching career 1-5. His leash isn't long either.

where are all of the homers who loved the Helton hired?

What a joke. Pat Haden, how you are in such a high position baffles me. That hire was just awful. Never should have even been in consideration for the position. You hand over the keys to one of the top programs in college football who had ZERO head coach experience, was an OC but never allowed to call plays until this year so Sark could concentrate on drinking, but because of his "integrity," he gets the job. Never once did i hear Helton deserved the job because he;s a great coach. It was all about integrity. Get out here with that. The same players who begged to have him as their coach now went 0-2 in back to back stinker of a performance. Thats the most hilarious aspect of it all. Haden expected them to run through walls when he took the interim tag off, but it had the opposite affect.

This hire will be way worst than anything that happened to them with the sanctions. I'll go to my grave wondering why Seattle didn't run the ball and why Haden didn't just wait until after the Pac-12 championship to make his decision?!?!?!

AND GOOOOOOD RIDDANCE CODY KESSLER.

Never have i seen a player regress more than what i saw out of Kessler. I never once thought he was as good as his stats indicated, but man, this dude just lost any confidence he had. Sark did one thing great. He hid all of his deficiencies very well. Did not expose his weaknesses much. Its a joke to think anyone would draft this kid. This SOB actually holds records for a QB at USC. Thats the part that hurts. Like seeing your ex date someone you can admit is better than you.

End of rant.

Fight on, but not so aggressively.

We already know what his staff will look like. What contacts does he possibly have out there? What self respecting coach with a name would dare go coach under him? Nobody can possibly think he would be safe as the HC, so why would you take a job on his staff? He has to rely on guys like Tee Martin (who i like but don't feel he deserves to be the OC, yet) to take gigs that they don't necessarily deserve.

The guy is a great man, but he didn't deserve this job. The Oregon State job could open up now and he wouldn't even be asked to come in for an interview. What has he done in his career? The guy literally didn't call plays until this year? And you're the OC? Thats like being a porn star but not able to perform in scenes.

But he;s a man of integrity. We will literally go into 90% of the games and not have the coaching edge. I've said it before. The Saban's, Urban's, Harbaughs of the world giggled the day Helton was named coach. They no longer see USC as a threat.

I've heard from some well respected donors, and from what i gather, this hire was made as a temporary hire until the new AD comes in. Haden's next job is to help in that search. None of the big names wanted to come because of the unknown situation at AD. AD's like to bring in "their" guy.

Once the new AD comes, Helton will be toast.

Wisconsin had the #3 defense in the country. I don't know why you're shocked they did well against our fourth string O Line.

USC played great D and had like 4-5 penalties all game. The offense has been bad all year (and Helton has been calling plays for 11 of the 14 games) but everything else looked fine to very good tonight.

The short dump off on 4th down was bad, yes. But honestly short of a Hail Mary, with 7 seconds left they couldn't have gotten any other play off in time. No idea why they called that play. And that is on Clay not Cody. But literally everything else about his coaching besides offensive play calling has been better than Sark and the last two years of Kiffin here. And even then, his play calling is more balanced.

I think the people having conniptions over this game are just looking at the final win loss column and didn't pay attention to anything else. Well coached game with literally 1/3 of a coaching staff.

The sky isn't falling. Let's wait and see what he builds.

Funny cause I'm thinking the same thing about you. People like you overreacting and wanting change just for the sake of change

You wanna fire Sumlin so we can roll the dice on another unknown?

Give Sumlin a chance to build something. The over reactions of someone going from being a good coach to a bad coach from one year to another is ridiculous.

The program is still in a good state. Sumlin's biggest mistake was just handing the offense over to Spav. Till that point, with the reputation and up and comer status Spav has, I can't blame Sumlin to take the risk of not losing him. It doesn't look like it worked it, but the sky isn't falling.

Now if we're seriously gonna after Kelly, sure then fire Sumlin. I don't see many clear upgrades, so making a lateral move at this point would just be a setback,

Agreed. This fire Sumlin talk is laughable.

Where was A&M before him? A&M fans acting like they were anywhere near relevant before Sumlin came.

I'll GLADLY cut a finger tip off to bring him over to USC. Would even let you pick.
