Official 2011 San Francisco Giants Season Thread (86-76) 2nd Place in NL West

Astros are picking up the bill though (no pun intended) so its a very low risk, low reward situation.

I've heard that if its just a dislocated shoulder it should be 3-4 weeks for Freddy...we just need to stay afloat at the top of the West until we start getting some guys back and I think we'll be fine as hard as it is to say that right now.

^I don't think so, starting the season without Ross, then Torres goes down early, Panda goes down late April/early May, then Posey in late May. They haven't had a chance to field their ideal starting lineup the whole season. Good thing Panda and Fontenot are gonna be back within the next week to bring back some experience and versatility. I read Panda is might get at least one start at 1st before coming back. During the road interleague games they may stick Panda at 1st with Miggy at 3rd and Huff as DH.

Tim has no control at all today. He better get it together when I go to see him in Oakland on Friday.

He hasn't looked right since his gem against Oakland, coincidentally that was his last start with Posey behind the plate. I'm not sure if that is the reason for him struggling his last 4 starts but he needs to get it together. We do not need another August-type month from him with the way this offense is playing.

There's been speculation that the game in Oakland has had an effect since he threw 133 pitches and the change of catchers since that start, could be a combination of both or just a coincidence. They are in the end of a of a 20 consecutive game stretch, so maybe the extra day of rest on Monday can help out Tim.

One thing I have noticed is that Whiteside has tried to backhand too many breaking balls in the dirt that are resulting in wild pitches, instead of sliding over and letting his body block the ball. It doesn't help that he's only hitting like .170 as well.

SMH. I knew the lack of run support was going to bite us in the %%! sooner or later. We need consistant bats for those times when our pitchers aren't doing the job (although it's strictly Lincecum fault today).
