Calderon will probably be stretched & Afflalo will opt out

I'm sure we could get a quality guard for Lopez if Durant actually wants to come here

doubt he comes here. he doesnt like the lime light. i read that the lakers think they can trade their pick for PG

The thunder uniforms look exactly like the old Knicks unis. So it shouldn't be a problem for KD

All i want is Vogel/Blatt & Batum/Bazemore/Fournier :\

Anything more will be a nice surprise

Baze and Fournier would probably turn into struggling pieces of **** if they sign with NY. :smh: That's how it goes.

For aforementioned players to really shine on a team, there would have to be a ball dominate PG that can facilitate and create open looks. The key element to keep in mind, is that they're well suited as "Type B" guys aka role players. If you bring them into your team and place the burden of a "Type A" players' responsibility, they'll flounder. Much to the likes of many players who've recently put on a Knicks uniform (J.R Smith, Iman Shumpert, Matt Barnes, Trevor Ariza etc).

As I've given this much more thought recently, I've come to the realization that we're in desperate need of a PG in the worst way possible. Mike Conley needs to be our #1 priority. He's feasibly the only guy out there who's attainable and would actually play in NY. Once you retain someone like Conley, you can subsequently start filling in the team with "Type B" players.

Any other transactional scenario that doesn't ultimately bring in Conley would be felt with much reproach. At least IMO

I was thinking of a potential Lopez trade if Durant comes here...

If ATL loses Horford in free agency they'll have a hole to fill at center. They also want to move on from Teague to let Schröeder get his chance. A deal centered around Lopez & Teague makes sense for both teams. We get a quality PG and ATL replaces one of their best players with another very good player to stay competitive. Their salaries don't match up but if both teams wanted it I'm sure it could get done.

Unless its KD the Knicks shouldnt go after any big name FA this summer and just tank next season since we have our draft pick. And then go after a big name FA next summer and then start contending for a title then.

I think the Free agents this summer (besides KD of course) will give us a first round exit ceiling

Just think
Melo
KP
TOP 5 pick
Top 2017 FA

I think that would sett he knicks up for success long term wise ....only problem is if melo will stay for a another losing season

^
That would be a great look.

CP3/Westbrook
Melo
KP
Top Rookie 2 way specialist
Complementary parts

That's would be a championship road map but:

1) I'm wary of waiting and waiting for big name FAs to sign with us.
2) Like you said, not sure Carmelo sticks around past the trade deadline after another lottery type season. Without him as that 3rd star, we'd still be in the same situation we're in now

Phil Jackson has tweeted photos from Sioux Falls, Iowa and Nebraska in the last two days. You don't need me to tell you that Jackson is on vacation at the moment. The interesting thing here is that league sources say that some involved in the Knicks' coaching search have been informed that Phil is away at the moment, meaning the search is on hold. This could be Phil's way of distancing himself from certain candidates, or he could legitimately be taking a break from the coaching search. Either way, it's clear that the Zen Master marches to the beat of his own drum.

who mans is this?

if we end up with Blatt/Vogel he could vacation all he wants but this isn't a good look...

i have to admit that conley is the best PG option out there. however, i do not think he's worth what he will be paid. the only PGs that deserve 20mil per are curry, westbrook, and CP. other than that, there are good PGs, but no superstar. maybe add lillard to that list, but its a very short list.

realistically, we should trade our 2017 pick, during this years draft, for teague. bc i honestly feel like if we can sign a batum or bazemore, we will make the playoffs next season and our pick will be in the high teens/20s.

even if we dont sign durant...which is extremely wishful thinking anyway...we can have this roster at the beginning of next season:

teague, grant, wroten
batum/bazemore
melo, dwill (hopefully he opts in)
KP
lopez, oquinn

all we would need is a couple more bigs and if teague doesnt work out, his contract expires after next season. that way we still have cap for summer 17 and might be able to lure westbrook. i think we have a much much better chance of getting westbrook than durant. spending all our money on conley will cripple us until either him, melo, or lopez come off the books. also, getting teague instead of conley will also allow us to have enough money to actually offer batum or bazemore.

We're not getting Vogel, no ****** way. Would love to see it happen, he's a great coach but nope. I'm pretty sure it's Rambis. Possibly Blatt because he's a yes man and into all that Princeton offense ********.
