He was either being mad sarcastic or being his usual self when he's over complimenting the hell out of someone. I don't doubt he likes that D'Antoni brought in a type of basketball that is entertaining though.
After the Kings there really hasn't been a team that's been that entertaining to watch outside of players.

I like to be optimistic as much as the next guy with a hint of pessimistic, but this one just sucks the hope outta someone. I hope this leaves a bitter taste in our mouth and we come out firing. I really do... I'm not gonna say much more. From the loss I haven't even posted in here because I was so vex.

The Knicks are 6-6 since acquiring Carmelo Anthony on Feb. 22.
Since the break, the Knicks have the fourth-best offense in the league, but the 24th-best defense.
During Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire's 335 minutes on the floor together, they have outscored opponents by just one point.
The Knicks have scored 110.5 points per 100 possessions, while allowing 110.9 points per 100 possessions. The combo has a +1 despite that efficiency gap because it estimates that New York has had more offensive than defensive possessions with those two on the floor, factoring in substitutions for offense.

Even if D'antoni implements defense in his system, the players need to actually TRY to play defense. Our star players arent actually "defensive minded". Plus, Amare looks bow legged on defense.

People already knew the Knicks was downgrading on defense by acquiring Melo.

doesn't explain why sheldon williams can't get in to defend the center even with amare in huge foul trouble.

the sad thing i don't think the team would buy into defense even if dantoni implemented it... the same situation happen in phoenix even though dantoni wasn't there anymore...the team just needs more effort on defense they don't have to be defensive stoppers... and another thing they need to do is avoid turnovers especially offensive fouls by douglas, melo and amare

Defense is about commitment. These people pick and choose win to play actual defense. There is no reason why Melo and Sha Williams can't play defense like everyone they go againist is Lebron

I took from it that he was being serious but he obviously exaggerates a lot of his thinking and is off his rocker. D'Antoni does have a lot of respect around the team and I don't understand why.
