Timofey Mozgov scored 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in 40 minutes on Sunday against the Pistons, who had previously been stuck on the bench for 15 of New York's previous 17 games.

After practice on Tuesday, Mike D'Antoni wouldn't commit to a minutes plan for Mozgov when the Knicks host the Mavericks Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.
"He'll play some," D'Antoni said. "We'll just see how the rotation goes. I don't know yet. But somehow he's got to be able to play.

probably doesn't want chandler to school moz. he will play though more minutes soon enough. maybe just against the easier teams right now.

someone check real gm for the candid interview with mozgov. they let him speak in his own language so he comes across as a very smart introspective person. gives alot of insight into a rookie playing for dantoni too.

i would post it but they banned my ip address so i can only go on my phone haha.

i lurked there for like a year and then made a username called pharmcoward. made one post about how phamcat is troll and a **** and not a knicks fan and the most annoying person on the forum and shouldn't be a moderator

I don't mind the black, but I also wouldn't mind giving this new look team a new jersey as well.

Mavericks-Knicks Preview

The New York Knicks have surprisingly used stifling fourth-quarter defense during a three-game home win streak. Defending against Dirk Nowitzki at Madison Square Garden has proven to be a challenge in the past.

The Knicks hope to continue their run at home Wednesday night when they try to snap Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks' five-game win streak.

New York (25-22) isn't known for its defense, allowing 106.0 points per game for one of the worst marks in the NBA. The Knicks, though, have held each of their last three opponents at home to 15 points in the final period, outscoring Detroit by 18 over the final 12 minutes of Sunday's 124-106 victory.

"What I'm noticing is that the fact that when the fourth quarter comes around, guys are really focusing in and really being sharp defensively," forward Amare Stoudemire said. "That's the tenacity that we have to play with, definitely in the fourth quarter, but we're trying to put together a full 48-minute game that way."

The Knicks will likely need to be sharp against Nowitzki, who is averaging 29.4 points in his last nine visits to MSG. That includes his lowest total in that span in the Mavericks' last visit, a 20-point effort in 30 minutes in a 128-78 victory last season that was New York's worst home loss.

Nowitzki is starting to find his shooting stroke since missing nine games with a sprained right knee Dec. 30-Jan. 14. He's made 15 of 22 shots in his last two games after shooting 39.1 percent over his previous seven.

Dallas (32-15) is looking forward to what could be a challenging three-game trip with visits to Boston and Charlotte also on tap. The Mavericks completed a perfect four-game homestand with a 102-92 win over Washington on Monday.

"It was a good homestand," coach Rick Carlisle told the Mavericks' official website. "We accomplished our goal. We wanted to win all of the games. None of them were easy and we knew that they would not be."

Carlisle was forced to use a new lineup when Dallas waived starting forward Sasha Pavlovic after Saturday's win over Atlanta. Brian Cardinal made his first start since Jan. 1 and had nine points and four rebounds.

Nowitzki scored 24 points and Tyson Chandler had 18 and 18 rebounds. The Mavs are 30-8 with Nowitzki in the lineup.

While New York has had problems with Nowitzki, Stoudemire has given Dallas issues in the past with Phoenix. The Knicks All-Star forward is averaging 26.3 points on 58.6 percent shooting in his last 10 games against the Mavs.

Stoudemire was listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Detroit due to knee problems, but still has yet to miss a game after scoring 33 points.

"I feel pretty good so I was ready," Stoudemire said. "No worries."

The Knicks got season highs of 23 points and 14 rebounds from rookie center Timofey Mozgov, who had not played in their previous 10 games.

New York played its second straight without starting forward Wilson Chandler (sore left calf). Shawne Williams, a former Mavericks reserve, is eligible to return after being suspended one game for throwing a punch in Atlanta on Friday night.

Anybody got info on Wilson's injury ? Is he out again tonight ?

Just found this :
Wilson Chandler (calf) is listed as probable for Wednesday's game against the Mavericks. Chandler will go, but his role is uncertain. Timofey Mozgov is coming off a monster game and coach Mike D'Antoni is committed to giving the Russian a chance again. That means a big lineup, and less minutes for Chandler. Still, Chandler is clearly among the Knicks best five players. He will eventually get back in that 30-32 minute range.

Amare Stoudemire (knees) sat out Tuesday's practice as a precaution. Amare is sore, but he's in no real danger of missing Wednesday's game against the Mavs. The team is calling it a standard "recovery day."

We def. going to need Chandler tonight.

I don't know if this is what you were talking about, but RealGM says this is an entry from Mozgov's blog.

Hi friends!

I wanted to tell you about our home win vs. Miami. I even had the title for my blog post ready – “Sunstroke

that's a good read too but not what i was looking at

right now its on the 2nd page of the knicks board on realgm title is "timmy mozgof candid translated interview" and has 6 pages

This time it’s not a post from Timofey’s personal blog, but an interview from the newspaper Sovetsky Sport. Questions by Kirill Zangalis. (UPD: later I translated Timofey’s blog post about the game too: read it!)

- Timofey, congratulations from all of the Sovetsky Sport readers. It was hard to reach you.

- Yes, my phone got hot from all the calls. The first to call me was my Russian agent Maxim Sharifyanov. This is the man who has supported me really well during hard times. He’s a very jovial guy. Today he started not with excitement but with a joke. He said, “Hey Tim, did they change the rules in the NBA and made the games longer? So this is why you played 40 minutes

yeah but some articles and interviews they fine are great and i just wouldn't ever come across on nt

haha i'm only 23 and a half los. i lost touch with popular culture waaay earlier than i thought i would. only turn on the radio for the throwback at noon. haven't watched mtv in at least 7 years.

I'm 24, but it's the Lil B "Based God" movement. (I am NOT a fan of his) but the movement is undeniable. He def. has a following. He adlibs #Swag a lot in his wraps. Cookin up dance etc.

More of an Internet Meme than anything.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with free basing crack cocaine or possibly harder drugs like meth. I think Lil B did it as a kid and it messed him up since. Sorta like smoking some "bad" weed and you're never the same again.

so he had a bad trip and became a bad rapper...

the knicks play the heat 3 days after the trade deadline. that would be epic if we had melo. unfortunately I think the nuggets will keep him all year and hope for a huge cba change like a franchise tag or reducing max salaries by an extreme amount

Can someone tell me the last time that the Knicks and St. John's were both favored to win a game on the same day?

Sounds like a sign of the apocalypse to me.
