NT Uber Drivers

alp alp lmao word, may I ask how much you get paid per delivery?
It's based on the distance, $4 being the minimum. Only thing is the distance from you to the sender doesn't count, only the distance when you pick up the package to the recipient. So just like what happened to me earlier I went from 1st and 68th street all the way to 49th and 9th Ave. Took me a minute cuz that's far as hell so the restaurant and the person who ordered food wasn't too thrilled because the person was on 58th and 9th so from his perspective it took an hour to go 9 blocks which wasn't the case, and all I had to show was $4. If it wasn't for a $25 bonus for five trips I would've been heated because that's backwards hustling

Gotcha thanks for the info bruh, I'm debating trying it in the spring with a bike as a side hustle. Do you get to pick your own hours/shifts?

No shifts, you turn it on and off whenever you feel like it,so don't wait for spring do it as soon as you're free

I don't have a bike at the moment and it's also going to get cold soon, but thats good to know.

If you do use the bike let me know how it goes so I can decide if I want to implement using one. If you wind up making way more as a result of speed I might consider but honestly I'm not trying to ride fast through Nyc traffic. Not getting in no goddamn accident to deliver some cat a burrito :lol
Save that for the old Chinese guys :lol

There's a walking option, do it for a week and you could buy a bike. At the Uber building just tell em you got a bike as an option and the bike if you cop one will be a tax write off.

And even if you don't wanna do it now for whatever reason at least sign up and go through the orientation because it takes a while, at least it did for me

alp alp :rollin I guess you do need them for the job. Do you ever get free meals? 8o
Once because the guy put the wrong address and then after I went there he gave me a different place to go to and while I was on my way he cancelled because it was taking too long and essentially I got paid and had his order for free

That bubble jacket

Which one though? They make a bunch and that's there specialty :lol
Plus I already got one so if you mean in general it's too late :lol

For those of you who don't think it's worth it, I do it full time and average about $35-40/hr driving.

What's the real income after your factor in gas and accelerated depreciation on the whip, doe?

Exactly. I'm doing it like 30+ hrs per week. The gas and the wear and tear is bad. Just had a $400 break job two weeks ago.

You can use this as a tax deduction because your car is your business.

Save all the receipts on anything that you've spent on your car, including your monthly car payments if you have any. They all count as tax deductibles because it is necessary for your "business".

So insurance costs me about $300 a month. I use Metromile because they cover you as an Uber driver. I prob spend about another $300 in gas. I put another $2000 aside for tax and maintenance. I don't think I need that much but this is my first year so I don't want any surprises. After all that I still take home $3500 a month.

Not really sure how to calculate accelerated depreciation. I have a 2012 Prius that we bought before I decided to start soon Uber. we got a second car and so I decided to use the Prius. I started a year ago exactly and prob put 35k on the car. It's at 95k right now. I'm hoping I can use for Uber for another 2-3 years if I can handle doing for that long. After that I would prob just keep it to run errands with.
