It serves 2 purposes. It makes minorities more aware of our reality. We stay patronizing these companies at our own expense. If 90% of your income comes from black and brown dollars, yet you do not acknowledge their power, isn't that showing a lack of value to minorities? But how is not buying sneakers bringing awareness to racial inequalities?
Is nike going to make a press release at the end of september saying they lost a lot of money in shoe sales?
How will you know if this is a success? What happens in october?
Let's change that thought process. If we can get minorities to stop spending 1000s, and maybe only 100s, it's a start. It hurt their bottom line. Those are completely different. They arent in any way similar to this.
Those are actions. Not buying shoes in an in-action. You being fiscally quiet doesn't bring awareness. Youll just fade into the darkness
Nike owes its consumer nothing more than a good product. You owe it nothing more than money to purchase the product.
I asked for people NOT to troll.so you are really trying to educate "black" and "brown" people on what they spend their incomes on?
thisRacism is bigger shoes and shoe companies, ppl need to start at the root of the problem... Not buying shoes for a month isn't going to a damn thing
If we don't patronize sneaker spots for a month...if we get enough people do commit in the movement, do you not think it will hurt the companies?Racism is bigger shoes and shoe companies, ppl need to start at the root of the problem... Not buying shoes for a month isn't going to a damn thing

If you dont agree, then don't support. It's that simple.
They can do a lot.Arent minorities already aware of reality? Why does their shoe company need to tell them?
Lets make the assumption that it does make a dent and nike listens, what next? What responsibility do they have? Theyre not killing their customers.
If we don't patronize sneaker spots for a month...if we get enough people do commit in the movement, do you not think it will hurt the companies?
That's a problem for China and other Asian countries to deal with. We're fighting racism in our country.Who do you think makes nikes op.
You're purposely being condescending. We get it, you're a financial aid officer, you know everything about money.how am I trolling? you said it

It's a movement. Just like the idiots wasting ice have made it viral, we too can bring awareness to the fact that country we call America still hates blacks and browns
It's one less child on the street to be racially profiled. So nike builds a rwc center, cool... Now what? What have we solved? We gave minorities a place to hang out. Have we made a dent in race inequality?
I still dont understand why Nike has anything to do with this.
Im confused.
You dont have to click on thread, my dude.you are full of fail my dude

Though I grasp your argument, I'm asking you to dumb down your thought process.
I'm not expecting for whites and minorities to frolic on the beach Oct. 1... We just want awareness that racism is alive and well. We want our dollars to be valued the same way a white persons dollar is.
Instead of spending that money on a Nike, Adidas product, go spend that money on small business
