seriously tho... he has been very future minded lately. even musically, the yeezus album is ahead of it's time. in a few more years, when people aren't so stuck on the oldschool soulful side of "real hip hop", that kanye got famous for, and as they become more educated on other music (the producers Ye brought in for that album was top notch, a lot of forward thinking guys, doing big things in other genres), people will go back and listen to the yeezus album and realize how good it actually was. it's very dark, cinematic, futuristic, and innovative, especially for a "mainstream hip hop artist"... most of the people who hated it so bad just aren't up on music like that (yet)... they want kanye to keep putting out the same sound he's known for.

couple that with all the things he's been working on in other areas, with donda, not just fashion, but film, stage themes, etc... i'd have to lean more towards this dude remaining not only very relevant, but far more legendary than he is now...

kanye is a visual artist first, he was a hardcore art student b4 he got into making music. "hip hop" music is just a small outlet for his creativity. i think he has much more to offer, and say what ya want about the guy, but he's very motivated, passionate, and hard working.

so i'd put my money on him winning.

keep in mind this is the dude who everyone told he couldn't make it in music outside of just being a producer... and we see how that turned out... :lol

if he accomplishes all he says he wants to do, these freaking yeezys are gonna be worth dumb money eventually... 8o

How many pairs were made?

i'd say prolly 6k - 8k...

it was confirmed by a very reliable source here on NT that the RO's were produced in "significantly higher numbers than the previous two colorways", and the first two were generally said to have been produced in the 5k range, each.

so "significantly more" sounds about like a couple thousand or so more, give or take, so that's my best assessment, with the knowledge we've been supplied with. can only speculate at the end of the day tho...

i also feel like a lot more people here on NT landed pairs than i remember seeing during the release of the first two colorways.

if someone had time on their hands, and was so inclined, they could go back to the beginning of this thread and tally up all the people who said they scored them from NDC... it seemed like a lot.

It just seems like the people who got these shoes the first time around (Sol/Plat) got lucky and landed RO too....[emoji]128559[/emoji]

"Just like the aura around other highly prized collector’s items, sometimes it’s the deal that doesn’t get made that generates the most buzz.

At the Manhattan event last month, one young vendor turned away $98,000 in cash for his Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red October” sneakers, designed by Kanye West and signed by the artist himself onstage at the Nassau Coliseum in February.

“I know I could buy a house with this kind of money,” said the vendor, Jonathan Rodriguez, 18, of Deer Park, N.Y., who said he planned to enlist in the Air Force. “But I’m a huge Kanye West fan. I can just work to get the money. The only way I’m selling them is if there is a reason that I need to sell or I’m offered life-changing money.”

Why did you even take them if you werent selling them then dude? And 98k shame on the dude saying he'd drop that, I call DUCK TALES

100% agree. Yeezus was a fantastic album. My favorite of him.

Saw these today at a sneaker show. The red pops like crazy.

yup. they're loud as hell. vibrant infrared.

it's still hilarious to me that cats tried to adamantly argue with me in here that they were just plain varsity red...

i could tell from pix that they weren't... then i got my pair and just laughed... people just wanna argue these days... :lol

quise2024 quise2024 I don't believe that offer for a second. Check out his twitter and ask him where the offer came from (twitter, eBay, etc)...

His answer was interesting. I think he made up that price because he secretly hopes someone else will offer $100k.

He said it would have to be "life-changing" money to get him to sell. Ummm unless you're a millionaire id say that's life-changing. Especially for an 18 yr old :{

Too many holes in this story. @im_jvill. It's a very cool story without all the bloating and over-exposure he seeks but then he goes and makes up a $98k figure that he turned down because he's a "HUGE KANYE FAN"..... Ok.

Me personally, if I had them, For $100k Jesus's sandals would be sold. |I
I mean I wouldn't think twice about selling the ROs at that price but know way I would sell Jesus' sandals, those are priceless. I'd either keep or donate to a worthy place
