IIRC the '18 BC's had people (rightfully) heavily nitpicking them back when we got an official reveal but in recent times they've been getting bashed even more harshly due to hindsight. It didn't help that the Red Cements which came out shortly after had all the improvements that the Black Cements should have had from the jump. Lower EP, sleeker toe box, sock line tucked behind the tongue, etc. Quality check was also very inconsistent. There were nice looking pairs like yours and then there were pairs that looked like Shaqcement 3s you could find at Walmart.

Agreed. They weren't/aren't perfect by any means. They definitely aren't on point like the upcoming fire reds. Maybe I just happened to get decent looking/acceptable pairs. All I'm saying is all this recent "2018 BC3s are hot garbage" talk is a way exaggerated.

I think it's the phenomena of the designers not knowing what the OGs looked like.

There are some old pictures from 88 where they look very dark but it's just the lighting.

Laziness. Not caring enough. Only caring about money. Brainwashing kids to buy anything at the time. I passed on each retro on the Fire Red 3s. Both are complete trash. It’s not the same shoe.
