News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

I laugh at the notion of being "rooted in realism" when it comes to superheroes. Nothing about the three Nolan films was contrary to or any more "realistic" than Batman's finest comic-book material. lol at a "decaying" fusion reactor becoming a flat-out nuclear bomb. Yeah, that's totally rooted in realism.

Ben Affleck, despite being the same actor, will play the exact same character. How exactly will his portrayal, his billionaire access to sci-fi gadgets, or his improbable ability to take on armies of armed thugs be any less "realistic" than anything portrayed by Bale?
Word. TDKR jumped the shark hard :lol

Back broken? In a pit in some foreign country half way around the world? Give it a few days, tops.

lowkey starting to feel like Ben's Batman is going to be the only good thing to come out of this.. can't even believe i said that :lol

Honestly I can probably get past the Batman situation, but the clincher here is Wonder Woman.

The **** is Wonder Woman doing in this damn movie? Why they can't give her her own movie?

This is supposed to be the "sequel" to Man of Steel? Lex Luthor is supposed to be in this? You mean to tell me you plan on developing Luthor, a new, older Batman, and WONDER WOMAN in the same damn movie, in what's supposed to be a Superman "sequel"?

They tryna shoehorn these characters in man.

ASM2 got a pass from me because of how much I enjoyed the story. But I'm not tryna see six new characters every movie

I'm still finna see this movie tho

The pacing of characters is what made avengers work and even then the addition if Thor was still kinda odd (but still worked). DC just throwing in characters will kill whatever they're trying to make. Batman and superman is already a reach IMO because of the past realistic movies (yes in aware this is not related to those movies but still hold some baring).

They have already basically admitted this is Justice League prequel (hence the title) and MoS 2 is a much later film

EDIT: Current rumored release schedule which no one has denied

May 2016 – Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
July 2016 – Shazam
Xmas 2016 – Sandman
May 2017 – Justice League
July 2017 – Wonder Woman
Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up
May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2

Sandman is the only thing in this list I care for. Just to see what the hype was about

I don't think they are calling it an MoS sequel anymore. If the "report" were true, there is a MoS 2 film at a much later date.

I really do think Marvel just got everyone spoiled, doing an origin film for every character isn't the only way to make films. What they accomplished is great but the main part of how and why it worked is they planned it all out and that is what everyone is picking up now. DC/WB got their plans now, 9 additional DC films outside of BvS, JL, Sandman, etc... films. Sony with their Spiderman franchise and Fox with their XMen, Deadpool, XFactor and F4.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, JL is a big enough team and known enough that you can start it as a team and then go from there. Look at their animated films that are very good, the JL either starts or are already a group. The animated show really helps in this regard that most know the members already, same with the animated show or XMen and Spiderman and that is why when the story from the comic that didn't happen in the tv show, there is a little uproar because there are more general knowledge of what happened in the tv show than in the actual comics. Most of the members of the JL are top tier heroes unlike Avengers that had a second to third tier heroes, outside of the Hulk, the rest weren't really that well known, not as known as Superman, Batman, WW, Flash, GL, Aquaman, etc...

Now the hard part is pulling it off like the XMen film where they start as a group and then branch off to the story for each members. They kind of tried to do it with XMen then Wolverine Origins that was suppose to be followed by Prof X, Magneto and X-Students origin films. Fox failed and had issues, DC will try and not fail at it.

As for the villain, they need less focus and n origins are needed necessarily. The best villain of all, Ledgers Joker didn't need it. With that said, it can still be done. Now I am not sure Eisenberg is the best fit for Luthor so I got my fingers crossed but dude just has to be memorable enough, he doesn't need to be totally fleshed out. I thought Zod was a good enough villain, enough action and you know his intentions. Snyder has done it before, with BvS where he doesn't really need to focus on the origins of Supes or Bats, there can be some deep background for Lex to go along with the story.

Also, BvS is still going to be mainly Superman and (or versus) Batman with small cameo that leads to a JL film. Keep in mind they are filming it back to back and at the moment Gadot is done filming (she has been done for a month now and started filming her next movie somewhere else) and they are still filming majority of the film for BvS part so that means her part is very small, for BvS at least. She isn't going to share the 1/3 of the screen time in this one as most believe.

I've stated this before but what I see them doing is BvS will have small cameo for most of the other members (Aquaman & Cyborg, those are the ones I've heard so far) including WW but her role will likely be slightly bigger than those others and then those cameos will be continued tot he full blown JL film.

Lot of Reviews are calling GoTG the best Marvel film yet..

No doubt they'll be making more of these

^
Them saying they only wanted to make one movie was probably just to save themselves in case the movie flopped hard. No one makes a comic book movie now without plans of multiple movies.

it was also a smart move imo..

Kind of makes the film more of an event instead of a prologue to the next big film. From what I've heard this film actually focuses on one singular story and doesn't suffer any of the weird 3rd act stuff a lot of MCU films have had.

This movie is going to be so trash, and I enjoyed Man of Steel.

because you've already seen the movie? oh wait...

I lurk in this thread a lot because I like the news. But a lot of you guys are mad funny.

TMNT is gonna suck, it looks trash, why are they so big, it's transformers turtles...

ONE trailer later...

Damn it looks cool, Can't Wait, gonna be sick.

I'm all for your opinion but to say something outright will be trash holds no water. To anyone. Why aren't we waiting until after any of these movies comes out to give our feedback and opinion? Patience. Just my thoughts on things.

For you specifically, I did like what you said after this initial sentence... but why do we need to warm up the bed before we get down to business so to speak. Throw Bats and Supes in there, why not. Why more origin or background do you need with TDK? The only origin I want to see from any batman movie ever again is the Gotham show and First Year. I would be A OK if they just came out and did The Killing Joke. Just my thoughts.

Zach Snyder had Superman breaking peoples necks and leveling cities filled with innocent civilian.

Whats he going to do to Batman? :x :{

Batmans going to come out like Rambo with giant guns just killing everyone in sight.

Everyone knew that. It's Disney. No way if this film had made 800M that there wouldnt be a sequel.

You still need to get people to go see it.
I think they went harder on advertising on this than anything else. It should get a sequel

Come on now, that was hero vs villain and it wasn't even Supes plan to kill him, it was a last resort. I think it is safe to assume Supes will be hesitant to even fight Batman.

As for the city being leveled, I don't get what's so hard to understand? Zod clearly said he'd kill every single humans, it's not like Supes could fly to a deserted field and Zod will follow him. He intended to kill those in the vicinity, keep in mind that Zod couldn't fly when they started fighting.

Plus Supes was being man handled there for a bit so it's not like dude could just drag Zod out of the city.

And Snyder has admitted already that the destruction will be part of the repercussions for the next film.

your acting like this really happened, they wrote that, and what the scenario they wrote for superman. :{

If you like that sort of thing, fine, but that's basically the opposite of what superman is about, in fact it's basically, 2 hour rape/snuff film slowly destroying the concepts and ideals that make superman a special character that has remained relevant for 60 years.

You might as well have batman move from Gotham city and see a psychiatrist about his mommy/daddy issues, or have wonder woman get married and become a pregnant house wife or Green Arrow become a republican.

I still don't understand people questioning all the damage that was caused by the fighting in the movie. They are super powered beings who are fighting like dbz characters. Of course they're going to wreck a whole bunch of stuff.

superman isn't a DBZ character, if you like MOS, fine but it has nothing to do with superman, they are simply inventing a new character and using the intellectual property of superman to insure profit.

Man of steel is NOT superman.

they got basically nothing right.

the pa kent relationship was ridiculous, his death was absurd, the ridiculous fight scene, the tone, everything got wrong.

you might as well have aquman dumping plastic bottles in the ocean, or running his off shore drilling operation.

It's Superman origins film, he was still learning. It was his first outing as hero and he was getting his butt handed to him. Hell he was't even the Clark Kent that everyone knows/wanted to see until the end of the film. It is a learning experience, it is how he develops his character and how he becomes Superman and it makes sense that dude isn't goody goody right off of the birth canals. Dude is actually back to being kind of a jerk when the new 52 came out.

And no it does not destroy what Supes concepts and ideals. Supes has killed before, so has Batman. Both heroes who do not do the killing thing but they have done it before. The good ol' boy scout is still there. It's good that Supes is actually not perfect off the bat, it's better that way so people could relate with him. He'll be a boy scout eventually but this is his way of learning and getting there.

Look I am big Superman fanboy and I think everyone here knows that but dude hasn't been that relevant because he is the big blue boy scout, he is actually ridiculed for it. Plenty of people call him boring and just too strong and does nothing wrong and that is why his popularity is a bit skewed. He is the most know hero because he was the first and that's where his popularity comes from but if it's the stories and his personality, plenty finds it bland and uninteresting. Superman is still well known but he has been surpassed in popularity in terms of characterization, Batman, Spidey, IM, etc... all has surpassed Superman.

I can guarantee you that Supermans actions in the film can be found in the pages of his comic books in the past 75 years. And yes, even killing Zod.

And no sh*t they wrote it. :lol That is the route they took and it was fine route. I think what you want to say is you didn't like it and that is fine but most of the things you are saying is a reach. I mean you want Supes to go to Zod, "hey man, we are kind of destroying these building which you already leveled half of from your World Engine so could we fight over there, in the desert where no one will get hurt?" and then you want Zod to comply? :rollin

Nothing wrong with the change in tone either, people wants the Reeves version too much but it's time to move on from that. They did that in Returns and that movie was just bad. Tone is actually just slightly more solemn than Returns so I don't see your problem with it. AT least dude isn't super-stalking his ex and kid in MoS. :lol

And they got the fight scene wrong? Have you read Supes books? Have you seen the animated shows? No buildings get destroyed there? There are no casualties when aliens invade or Doomsday jumps in the middle of the city and wreaks havoc?

The Pa Kent and Jor-El relationship was perfectly fine, it was a good balance of one trying to protect his kid from the world while the other is encouraging him to protect the world. Again if you don't like that, that is fine but that isn't too far fetch from the mythos seen in the comics.

Still waiting for confirmation from that Phoenix reports. It's supposedly real close and might be announced tomorrow but there's been too many rumors that never pans out.

Dude could act so I wouldn't mind him though he is a bit crazy/weird off-screen which is kind of surprising that Disney is willing to deal with it.

Plus dude is already a well-known actor, I thought they'd do the usual and cast an up and coming actor.

When I initially watched MoS I was kind if lost in the "controversial" ending like most but I've grown to appreciate that they had the guts to show superman take a life when pushed to the brink. It showed the Boy Scout flawed and defeated mentally and his eventual build up to become the superman we all know should be interesting. While I'm still HIGHLY skeptical over BvS I've liked the liberties DC has taken with movie-verse. I'm most excited about Jesse Eisenberg's take on Lex Luthor and I'm dreading Ben Affleck as batman. :x
