I know this is Lebron in high school, but you guys really think he can bring anything to the dunk contest ?
people been brainwashed by lebron's PR or something. makes no sense

but i guess it's true, after what happened with Blake people would say it was rigged. I mean we literally just saw it happen

^^^
this right here .... the past few years the dunk contest has had a bunch of no names dunking .... the last "Good" dunk contest was in 2008 when Dwight Howard destroyed the contest and he was a "Big Name"
meh, that was overrated. Kenny SMITH is annoying as hell.

The year Blake Griffin won, was pretty good until he was given the award.

IDK why ya'll want LeBron to be in it so bad. He said it himself today at All-star practice he's not a creative dunker, he's more of a game dunker.

So you want LeBron James to do what? A powerful cock-back dunk that you see him do every game?

He's 28 years old, next year he'll be 29. He's not doing it, get over it. It wouldn't be that special anyways.

All of this.

And if LeBron actually decided to enter the dunk contest everyone would be *****ing about it being rigged for him to win.

Yup. Dudes should just move on. If he didn't do it in his Cavs years he's definitely not doing it now.

Lebron James loves the attention, it's that simple. This guy tweeted: "Dunk Contest?" just a couple of weeks before the event, acting like he was going to be a part of it. F THIS GUY

they need to make a Throwback dunk contest feature with the classic dunks from the past, and make these contestants actually make the dunks they practice. this is the 2nd year people aren't satisfied with these events.

You don't remember the 'wheel'?

Noooooo. The dunk wheel was one of, if not the worst idea ever implemented into the dunk competition.

Even though this year wasn't corny like past competitions (except for the easel with the painting). They need to limit the props. No more stickers, blindfolds, glow-in-the-dark jerseys, and capes.

Add some star recognition. LeBron still has crazy athleticism and with HELP he can practice the creative ideas people would easily suggest to him just to see him pull them off in a competition. But it doesn't need to be entirely stars, because at the end of the day it's about the dunks. A major star or 2, or 3, will help the contest and probably invigorate the non-star dunkers.

And choose the contestants a lot earlier so they have more practice time.

The thing is, if were were to rank the top dunk contests ever, the common theme would be that they all contain star players. They probably werent even the best dunkers in the league at that time, but something about stars facing off brings more excitement than a bunch of role players doing it. This contest is driven by star power, not really dunking skill.

Everything in the NBA is driven by star power.

Loved hearing Chuck tell it like it is (as usual), at the end of the broadcast, even though NBA and TNT execs were probably cringing at what he said.

Despite the weak on-court product, the commentary crew still made tonight worth watching, for me anyway.

To make a better contest three that come to mind are Westbrook, harden and deandre jordan. Who else could be in it (not lebron)

Were J-Rich and Vince really stars when they won? Those are 2 of my favourite dunk contest performances. At least nowhere near the level of LeBron.

If Iggy can still get up like he did when he was in the contest they should have him back. Bring back DeRozan and whoever else is nice at dunking that season and have All-Stars like Russy, KD, or Blake join. Oh yeah, and do whatever it takes to get Bron in there. People would postpone weddings and cancel important events to witness that. (No pun intended.)
