Mr. Robot: Wednesdays at 10 PM on USA

I don't see Esmail dragging it out much longer, we will know after the next episode it seems.

My problem with the psych ward theory was the same as the Fight Club theory to an extent, too on the nose and obvious.

This being a bit worse cuz it robs the season of it's settings and events to a degree. That'd mean everything we're seeing in an Elliot scene is suspect. A reveal would have to come on soon for me to fully accept that. Can't wait until the end of the season for another mind blowing reveal especially one ppl have been calling since seeing the first 2 eps.

I already am interpreting things a certain way for Elliot scenes when it looks like Mr. Robot takes control. For instance, in this ep, he wasn't abducted and had cement forced down his throat. Mr. Robot just took control, walked back home, took something to make Elliot vomit like ipecac so he wouldn't get drowned out by adderall. Esmail just used a cool scenario to depict the metaphor. Same thing I question when Mr. Robot pulled the gun on Romero. I would be liked to see that scene as Elliot. Same when he met Tyrell.

We only got a glimpse of that a few times when Elliot would choke himself and in his head its Mr. Robot attacking him.

As far as fan theorizing, yeah it's becoming a problem for great tv series. Lost definitely started it. I've made this similar complaint post before. BB was a show it should've never happened at all. Ricin this, ricin that. Then imo, the most egregious example was S1 of True Detective and looking back I dunno if that was fandom going too far with theorizing or if the writer egging that on with all that yellow king bull ****. Its a bad sign when fandom is watching the ep looking for things to help support it's theory then follow and enjoy the show.

I don't think Robot fans have gotten that bad yet though.

Eh....man as dope as this episode was in some parts, I'm about to get real bored with this is it Real or is he in the Hospital ****.

I wish I never would have read that theory in here, I likely never would have picked it up, at least this early anyway.

I didn't catch the FightClub stuff last year until ep5 or 6. I was just enveloped in the excitement of the show.

I can't even enjoy this season, all looking for clues and **** now.

Esmail too smart for his own good.

About to get bored, though.

Over it.

* Finally, I want to talk for a moment about a fan theory that's been floating around for the past week. (I have no idea if it's correct or not, but if you'd rather not have something potentially spoiled — or have the way you watch the show fundamentally changed until it's proven true or false — stop reading now.) As the theory goes, Elliot hasn't actually moved back in with his mother, but is currently in prison, a mental hospital, or some other kind of facility with a strict daily regimen, and that's why his schedule is the way it is, why he's hanging around someone like Leon, watching basketball games, etc. It's not impossible, given what we've seen — though the amount of material with Ray moving about and interacting with people in the real world suggests otherwise (or suggests that Ray is somehow coming to visit Elliot in this place) — but I'd rather it not be correct.  When I spoke with Sam Esmail at the end of season 1, he said he didn't want the audience to constantly be questioning the reality of other characters and locations, and that's smart. The show go to turn over that card once with Mr. Robot's true nature, and there it had been so heavily foreshadowed that it could barely be called a surprise. Do it again — and on this scale — and you risk turning the entire show into a parlor game, where viewers are never paying attention to what's happening between the characters because they're constantly looking for clues as to what's real and what isn't. Joss Whedon talked about this back when he was doing Dollhouse — how he got frustrated that after one too many "Oh, that character's really another doll" reveals, he inadvertently conditioned the audience to assume every character could turn out to be a doll — and it becomes far more trouble than it's worth in short order. But we'll see. Everyone may be overthinking what's there, even as the show itself invites us to do exactly that.
I think for this show in particular, we need to be able to believe what we see. Season 1 could play that trick, but like the article said, if you keep going back to that well, it can exhaust the viewers or weaken that effect.
Should have just read this first before I posted, and said "Exactly".

That's exactly how I feel.

I don't see the issue, show is still the best thing on TV with or without the theory.

If that distracts you from the breathtaking acting performances, writing and cinematography that's on you.

Like I said, I think everything will be clear in the next episode judging from the preview.

Unless it's a common "issue" felt by many viewers... then it's on the show.

So far, the show hasn't really had that problem, but we're just talking about how if they're not careful.. it can turn into a gimmick that cheapens the experience and takes away from those many positives.

I'm really looking forward to more Craig Robinson.. I loved him on the Office, but I've really been enjoying his dramatic turn and want to see what else he can do.

She was on the Halle Berry show Extant.

She always rocking that smart genius role.

Yeah for a season or 2.

As a journalist and gf that an ep settled for :lol

I think we all need to address Elliot sifting through his vomit to eat what was left of those Adderall pills.

Sam Esmail might legit be a genius. And props to USA for letting him do whatever the **** he wants this season. Riveting television.

Rami Malek.:hat

Did not know he had it in him when I first saw him playing a gay boy on The War at Home with Michael Rapaport.:lol

Vomit scene was one of the best so far this season which is saying a lot.

Also LOVED the scene with Price and Angela at the restaurant after the two company dudes left.

The way Price went over to say those last words to her was chilling, she felt the weight and power of the world she's moving into.

Angela looking good enough to eat this season, she glowed up for real.

'THAT PART'

And his whole monologue about '**** God'

We really not gonna talk about the best character getting murked :lol

Idk bout best character lol but Romero getting murked like that kinda had me like damn. Especially after the story bout the arcade. That was a dope intro story & how it tied into the episode and show in general. That jawn really maybe haunted lol

Had me confused like who is he talking about?

Romero dying just came and passed for me. I :eek at first but ain't much to it yet. I'm thinking the whole group may be targetted but it could be anything else.

I loved his directness, and dude was the main black character until this season.....admit it's probably not most people's fav characters......Have a feeling E corp lawyer about to take the throne for me.

E corp story getting better each episode, getting to the point that I just FF through the hallucinations

They should never run an EP without Madam Executioner in it. Ever.

Price is by far my favorite.

Dude put the take a way close on Ol' girl Angela. Basically it's impossible for her to not understand things from ECorps perspective now.

She's going to be at E Corp as a loyal Soldier, not some get back type revenge.

Price took all her Power when he offered up the Careers of  2 of his Partners tenured at over 25+ years.

He Closed her on the Spot.

She will do whatever He/They need, now, and think nothing of it at first.

That's the best scene of either season thus far.

SO much happened.
