With the new weapon systems and smart bomb these days, they needed to make a bigger Godzilla. The odds of beating him looks insurmountable compared to the 1998 one where he looks vulnerable. That's the true essence of what the originator were trying to show; that he can't be beat with convention military weapons.

i still think back to malcom in the middle and one of my fav episodes when he was teaching one of the kids how to skate
