Lil' Wayne - Carter 3 (Official Thread) Officially A Millie

I guess I'll never understand. Cuz when I heard this album, I immediately never wanted to hear it again. At least in its entirety. I'm not sure whatother people really like about it. I just can't wrap my mind around the fact that, the wayne album I just listened to, people actually like and think itsgood. Absolutely no hatred whatsoever either. If wayne dropped a 4+ album, I'd give him his due. I like good music as much, no waaaaaaaay more, than thenext person. But there is nothing good about this album.

And far as wayne's flow goes...I guess my attention span is just too long to like any of the crap he's spitting. I mean, dude has punchlines, butthat's it, and half of the time every good punchline is sandwiched between 2 really lame ones....his verses are not cohesive. Most of the time can'tstay on one topic for more than about 4 bars, before switching to some other %#!$, just because it happened to rhyme. There are a couple of exceptions, likeDr. Carter, and Tie My Hands which is wayne at his best. You can call the concept corny on Dr. Carter, or call it a gimmick song, but the beat is excellentand wayne actually spits and is coherent. Why can't he do that more often.

I'm not even mad at wayne for being lame half the time, I just wish listeners weren't consuming it.

Crimson Cloud is saying what I've been saying the last 2 pages......Congrats Crimson you Sir have respect for your iPod and I commend you!

NOW EVERYBODY SHOULD KNOW GOOD AND WELL THAT CAM SHOULDVE BEEN ON LET THE BEAT BUILD

THAT COULDVE BEEN HIS OUT OF RETIREMENT HEAT ROCK!!!

SMH!

Dr. Carter is probably the worst song on the album IMO. it's such a half-assed attempt at a concept song, but since it actually has "direction"(which Weezy obviously lacks) then it's proclaimed as the best track.

i mean honestly, do y'all even listen to Wayne? you really expected him to drop a cohesive, thoroughly thought out album? (it's even more ridiculous if you think either of the first 2 Carter's are some well thought out masterpiece and thissuch a dramatic drop-off) if you're expecting anything more from him than the stream of consciousness type verses where he's just spazzing, rhyming asmany syllables as possible and throwing in some wordplay and punchlines, then yeah, i guess you wouldn't get it.

you guys lump all Wayne fans together, but trust me, not all of us are the 16 year-old dudes who hang on to his every word and proclaim him as the best.it's a hot album that'll play nicely in the ride for the summer, just like Drought 3 was last summer. i honestly think y'all are expecting too muchfrom him as an artist. it's like faulting Sasha Vujijic or some 3-point specialist because he's not the best player in the league and will never be thebest. doesn't mean he's still not good at what he does.

I see what you meant but you stick to your analogy.....He's calling himself the best and alot of his fans are. So yes I'm mad when Sashacalls himself the best in the league and guys on ESPN call Sasha the best or one of them....feel me?

but theres a difference between sasha and wayne ... sasha never looks like kobe or jordan, wayne can rap as good as pac biigie jay-z etc..... on some occasions... so your idea of the analogy doesnt make much sense ... blazin had the right idea

?

His flow, lyrics and delivery make the track stand out. The concept is definitely not half assed, IMO.

Nurse tells what each paitent/rapper flaws are, and he goes in on the track telling each how to rectify their problems.

"Brighter then a sun ray. Got a pistol on the playground, watch the gun play. Like, no kidding, no kids in the way, but the kids do watch, gotta watchwhat we say. Gotta work everyday, gotta not be cliche, gotta stand out like Andre 3k."

"Arthritis in my hand from writing, but I'm a doctor, they don't understand my writing. So I stopped writing, now I'm like lightning, and youain't Vince Young so don't clash with the Titan. Fast and exciting, my passion is frightening, now let me put more vocab in your IV"

etc.

It's definitely not the worst track album. If you consider Dr. Carter trash, then I can't see how anything ELSE on the album is 'ok,''good.'

HWAT?!!

After listening to it a couple times, it's average to me. His technical abilities are really nice...but I don't feel him lyrically. 3.5/5 to me. not abad effort though.

I hold him him to the same standards as any other artist, so yea...for me to say the album is hot, he'd have to good songs, some kind oforganizational flow, and at least decent lyrics with cohesiveness.

Why should wayne get a pass.

My questions for you is....Can you really stand verses that just hop all over the place with no direction.

And to add to this....if dude wants to go running around claiming he's the 'best rapper alive'...you know damn well those standards andexpectations will apply to Wayne.

I only really like

Comfortable
Mr Carter
Dr Carter

I kinda like a Millie
And half hearted like, its nothing...I think Fabolous verse > Juelz Verse > Wayne verse

You need your s/n revoked, Marleywouldn't approve of this substance-less album nor you defending it.
