Don't trip man.
Without the essential trade machine we wouldn't be where we are now, thread wise.

Because of you're countless scenarios, along with CP and Ska's stubbornness, we were able to over take the most popular team thread spot from those pesky Warrior fans who used to kill us in page count a few years ago.

You're a Laker legend Essential. :hat

(btw, what the hell happened to that Warrior thread anyways? It used to build 20 pages a night... right now its only at 20 pages throughout the whole season. 8o)

It doesn't look like Detroit is gonna keep Monroe.

If they would probably let him walk during off season, why not try to swing a trade for him ?

What would it take?

He averages 15 and 9.

Only reason I'm thinking swing a trade for him is you get his bird rights, so we can sign Monroe and we still have money to go get someone or wait till the following free agency.

What do you guys think?
I really like Monroe. He lets his actions on the court speak louder than his words. He just put his head down and get to work, all effort. Opposite of DH.

FYI Monroe is one of the worst post defenders in the league. And he doesn't play with intensity every night.

Dude is not worth the max, he's gonna steal money from some team this offseason

Kobe coming back just means 2k is more fun. I dont see the playoffs this year at all tbh

Glad no one said to give him the max then.

And he's 24, ie, can still improve. He may not be a good post defender now in Detroit, does not mean he can not go to another team and learn to play defense.

Young players do improve when put in better positions to succeed on other teams, I believe you've seen that by now watching dozens of Lakers over the years. Monroe could easily become the next one of those.

Im just glad the Kobe extension was done so fast.

Regardless of how much they are overpaying or not, just the fact that we are going to avoid the media circus over the off-season... "WILL KOBE RESIGN WITH THE LAKERS? IS HE VISITING CHICAGO? WILL HE JOIN DROSE? WILL HE JOIN LEBRON IN MIAMI? WILL HE TAKE 54 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR FROM THE BUCKS?"...

:x

After the whole "Dwightmare" saga, last thing we needed was unnecessary suspense with Kobe.
If they were gonna pay 24 a year now, we know they would of done it then...
It may be idiotic and stupid, but at least it saved us a few months of TMZ speculation and stupid drama. :{

so on the positive side, thank god its over with.

The off-season is going to be all about draft picks, propspects, other free agents, role players...

useful pieces, but nothing as dramatic and annoying as "The Decision Part 3"... :lol

Hes young and can improve but thinking somebody going to a Antoni ran team will improve their defense is laughable

I don't even care about making scenarios anymore :lol
Kobe is the GOAT. :smokin
Not sure what that has to do with anything.
Oh, I thought it was Bizarro Day or Backwards Day or a day of saying things no one would expect or something like that

I doubt that was ever going to occur.

In this day and age, with Buss and Co. already embarrassing the franchise with the whole #STAYD12 campaign...

...Better to be safe than sorry.

the franchise wasnt embarassed because of that :lol

no one looks down on the franchise because of that.

people should respect lakers organization for not letting dwight get control and fire the coach or something like he did with orlando.

On the real fellas, it's been a pleasure.. I graduate tomorrow, and get that Master's Degree. It's been a lot of pain, hurt, and struggle in my life. But NT Lakers fam has always been here to turn to in order to escape from it all.
congrats!
