There are 4 rookies we HOPE get a lot of playing time this year.

We're going to be in the bottom 3 teams in the league. The difference is the bad/tanking East teams will beat up on each other. The West teams are going to annihilate us. The Kings and Suns are the only teams even close to us, and the Kings will be better than us, the Suns will be a coin flip again.
It's gonna be bad, regardless, but at least since we don't have our pick, we have no reason to root for losses this time. It will just sting more now.
Then we HOPE BI and Zubac improve, a lot.

^Then you have to turn around and sell all that, minus Brook Lopez, to two max guys coming from playoff teams. After seeing how hard a time they're having selling free agents this summer, it doesn't exactly inspire confidence for the grand 2018 plan
Well, could have let it grow slowly, organically, and let the young guys develop together over a period of time while the Warriors run comes to an end, but hey, let's rush back into their window like a bug against a windshield. What could go wrong?

Waiters is not a bad player. I would welcome him to a one year deal over all the other options.
He has no incentive to take a 1 year, 17 million deal with us over a potential 3 year, 50 million deal in NY or MIA, so this discussions doesn't really matter.

He got a better 3pt FG% and EFG% from what I'm seeing.
Moonman got a point that we are paying more for almost the same production we could have got from DLo, but hey, it is what it is.
