Honestly I'm over the whole tanking thing at this point. If the players are playing hard, buying into things and they finish the season strong with something to build on next season so be it.
It's no incentive for players to tank so the players on the court are going to try hard, especially when not all of their spots are guaranteed next season. You can bench guys, shut guys down etc, the guys on the court you put out there are ultimately going to play.
I'm at the point where if they keep the pick great. If they don't, that stupid trade is finally done with, same with the 2019 pick. It's no more question marks, no more stressing about losing picks. It isn't looming over them anymore and they can move past it already.
They had the 7th pick in the draft, and the number 2 pick two seasons in a row. How many more draft picks do they need. Time for the pieces they currently have to grow.
This isn't the 76ers where you can sell trusting a process to a good chunk of the fanbase. Again if they keep the pick, awesome. If not, this stressing about losing picks stuff is finally done with. The Knicks had the 2nd worst record and dropped to 4 in 2015. Even if you finish with the 2nd worst pick, nothing is guaranteed. The Lakers had the 4th worst record and jumped up to the 2 slot. Just let things play out. It would be a shame to do all this tanking, finish with the second worst record and still lose the pick.
