**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

That’s absolutely stupid and ridiculous unless you interpreted it wrong...

Maximize LeBron James’ TALENT on the court, maximize the best player in the world for the next 4 years, that’s not even arguable. Get him a team that makes sense by any means necessary.

I’m not talking about maximizing GM LeBron, GM LeBron is like GM Jordan, that doesn’t work.
What kinda shooter are trying to get for Zo? Why trade a 2nd yr pg with high upside for something u can get for some future picks or even on the buyout market?

They obviously are trying something different with the makeup of this team. We scored 50 points in the paint in the 1st half. If we dont let nick fn stauskas go off we win that game.

The 3 point shooting is somewhat concerning but I think there are things they can do to improve, like having kcp n hart run thru more off ball screens. No need for a drastic trade after 1 game:lol:

i am but im old enough to be your daddy, son. lakers fans since 72 8)

I Respect my Elders especially those embracing new technology
but listen up gramps, its no coincidence that kcp’s re-signing came right after lbj signed. It was a packaged deal

It’s also no coincidence we had a line of dialogue with Klutch after we picked kcp up last summer

Klutch messed up kcps money with Detroit
We are now helping them recoup the losses.

ok, i can see that. i do think this is a thank you fee paid by the lakers to klutch sport as a favor but perhaps it's a down payment for future klutch clients (ben simmons and AD )

Y’all notice as Zo shot that three (the one he made) Lebron yelled “YEAH ZO!!!” Even the kang tryna hype him up . He was really low energy last night word to Jeb Bush

Who is the ideal Lonzo p?

This sounds weird coming from you
The ideal Lonzo is active defensively, rebounds the ball *highly important given the questionable bigs*, makes the go-ahead pass, keeps the ball moving in the half court, cuts to the basket, hits the *occasional* three :lol

He's a rather stoic individual. He didn't play well, but even if he did he's more times than not a even keel kid.

-McGee played well but he's going to need to work on his pick and roll defense.
-Walton needs to split Ingram from Bron to unlock him a la last year. Have him anchor the second unit.
-Ingram played really good defense while guarding McCollum.
-Once he gets up to speed, Ball should start. Him and Lance do not mix.
-Rondo can run the second unit to hide Lance. Problem is I want Ingram to dominate the ball with the second unit too.
-Hart needs to start over KCP. He'll be able to switch and rebound unlike KCP while shooting threes and running the floor.
-Kuzma as a center needs to not happen for more than two or three minutes. Anything more is harmful.
-May we never see a Lance-Beasley lineup on the floor ever again.
-Good to see the team identity is apparent so early in the season.

- you really want rondo with the second unit? you think lebron is down with that?

i agree with the rest btw

Woo that texh had me out like a light .. but I’m good now

I think the biggest issue, even more than rotations, is our inability to operate in the half court. We scored 1.33 PPP (points per possession) in transition and only 0.89 PPP in the half court. In the half court not much is happening, especially with the second unit. Not much action. Lots of iso. No good sets. Dudes standing around. When we can’t run we have no offense.

That’s gotta be the biggest issue. Luke and staff isn’t putting these dudes in a position to succeed.

Not sure why the lakers haven’t addressed this by getting an assistant who is a master Xs and Os dude. Instead we keep bringing back sub tier lakers like Shaw, Madsen and Rambis who’s main offense when they played was give the ball to Magic or Kobe and get out the way.

:lol :lol :lol

119 points in game one and these are the takes.

The Blazers returned 11 players from last year, everyone is in sync.

The Lakers returned 5, 4 of them babies, everyone is NOT going to be in sync for a little while.

Put your shirts back on. Give it a few weeks at least, God damn.

the lakers are in a conundrum. they don't have thel uxury of patience because lebron perhaps has a 2-3 year window before we see a steep drop in both athleticism and production. are you willing to throw this rare opportunity just so the lakers can coddle 2 prospects?

This is a “see what pieces fit with Bron” season imo

Trade deadline will be big
