If I asked for a gun at that age, I would get theand probably my %%+ beat.
My parents wouldn't even think twice about it.
I'd like to think it isn't normal for a kid to receive a gun as a gift.

I got a gun when i was like 13, not because i asked for it but because my dad was really into hunting and wanted me to have my own gun. I'd say it's more common than most think. Things like this rarely happen, its an extremely small percentage young gun owners that blast their families in the face.
