Jordan Retro 1 '85 Black/Red Feb 14th 2025

It honestly just has to be out of spite at this point…

Would it be so difficult for JB to drop a high top 1 in this build once a year the same way they do 11’s? They can still play with the mids if they like, or better yet just cut the mids out all together and fill that void with the OG highs…How much production costs would they save by getting rid of the mids entirely? Joe Schmo off the street certainly wouldn’t notice they’re gone…

Instead they have OG highs releasing in a bunch of redundant colorways, and mids releasing in similar colorways to the OG 1’s…Then they run the same spectrum for all the variations of lows they release…

They literally have 7 different builds of the Jordan 1 on the market, not including golf / cleats, and THIS is the pair they decide to limit because they’re ~paranoid they’ll sit~?…Get the **** out of here with that…Cut some of that other redundant crap out of the lineup, and stop taking your anger at losing market share out on the consumer…

Pizza boys went raw vegan on this release I see. :emoji_drum::emoji_laughing: This is the 3rd iteration of this shoe I've been on NT to see, and I love that y'all all are rightfully mad this time around tbh. This is the only way JB is gonna get it. But yeah this not gone go how it did in 2016, and especially 2013 for JB. They better shape up or ship the **** out. New balance, Asics, and Crocs is here. And not how they were here in 2013. And Nike don't got a fledgling fly-knit tech this time around.

What do y'all think JB can do after the 14th? Would a number of SNKRS restocks be enough?

I'm curious as to how they're gonna handle the backlash, but it's more than likely that they won't do anything.

Way to celebrate the 40th anniversary, I guess
They went dark on the socials, because they don't wanna hear it. They know they foul. That's my theory anyways.

As if these Asics and New Balance are easy to get and the don't have collabs. Have you actually tried to get a Bronson or Joe Freshgoods New Balance? They do the exact same thing. Release the same retro models and colorways. Throw limited releases in.

Other brands have always existed and everything is cyclic, be it Adidas, designer, Vans.

Just three years ago dudes were paying resell for panda dunks, and you think times have changed. They became available and became wack.

They’ve heard worse; much much worse. This isn’t anything lol

You had tens of thousands of kids crying for Travis Scott’s..

Not that many people give a **** about this shoe to warrant them to shut down socials lol

They’re banning themselves for the shoe and will prob activate everything right before release

The 20th anniversary wasn't much better, because NON - Jordan Brand member Daniel Ewing wore the 20's first, well before release date with the ankle straps cut off, so there is that.

SNKRS or bust

This release is a wash. They pulled down their socials to play into the “banned” fake nonsense.

I talked to some people at the brand because I’ll be in SF for all star and I was told to be persistent that weekend because they will be available but where? That I didn’t find out just yet.

But yes everything I heard is 10K world wide so probably 5-6k in the USA and then the rest spread out over Europe and else where.

Unless they’re being ultra secretive and they’re playing into the limited narrative….we’re all doomed. I have all other 85s and would love to add these but I won’t be paying 1k for these.

People can still voice their opinions on the non-Jordan Nike related socials…

It’s all marketing though, so not like any of that matters to them 🤷‍♂️…They don’t care about any of that anyways…

Y’all really giving JB too much credit about how much they care about the people that actually care about the shoes.

They care more about the person that posts the YouTube vid, the tik tok, the IG story… then forgets about the shoe; than us.

Checking in, It’s been a few years..
I have every bred 1 release since 94 in my collection. I’m gonna atleast make an effort on these. Prob end up paying resale

I’m goin the Developer Boring route if I don’t get these. I don’t care about the same ol same ol history anymore. These should be GR’ed with the same treatment as the other 85’s. They woulda still sold out because It’s one of the OG ICONIC colorways. Neutral Greys, Black/Whites, & Metallic Burgundy’s aren’t held in as high of a regard as the OG Chicago colorways & the Royals. These guys ain’t playin fair.

Made me think of this WT video:

I remember ppl were givin Weartester a hard time on these sayin “he shouldn’t promote reps” somethin of that sense but look at where we are now.

JB don’t even know to replicate the OG’s when someone can handcraft them themselves and make them look THIS damn good. So I can’t knock someone who builds it from the ground up to wear or sell.
