Jordan Retro 1 '85 Black/Red Feb 14th 2025

I done made my mind up if I do strike out ill pay 400 max. I never in my life paid resale but this will be the only 1 time I'll do it. I regret not copping the 2015 chicagos for 400 after they dropped. I started to but couldn't do it. I will wear the hell out of these and get my moneys worth.

Good thing about 1 like this...you can wear alot and if you decide to sell 10 years later to get the new version...you'll get atleast half that resale back. Or 75%. Not bad when you think about it

Edit...wtf I went just now and was curious to see what flight club was charging for the 2016s and the black toes...barely over 400 now. Prices dropped mad low. I knew most sneakers were flopping but even the modern day grails are cheap. Crazy times. My 2015 unc were once 900!

I’m glad of the fact that prices are falling. The market’s been overinflated for years. Not to mention oversaturated. I was glad to be able to take a break from the sneaker culture while things were so ludicrously over priced in both the retail and resale markets.

It’s good to have my interest renewed.

250 is steep but Nike knows they can get away with it. It’s the most popular colorway, in the 85 mold and will sellout regardless. I just hope they aren’t limited or made in low quantities and that we all eat.

the more i look at it the more i'm convinced that they based this off of one of MJ's PEs instead of the regular retail version
Hard to know because the 85 high was supposed to get a new shape. Is this permanent or exclusive to the breds? Don’t think anyone knows for sure

I paid resale on 4/5 85s

I guess I’ll do the same on these, except all those plummeted down to retail basically so burned thousands 🤣😂

Overpaid on the NG highs for sure and sold them for a fraction. Generally getting out the “game” so I have no attachment or looking to turn profit etc, I rather just clear out and be at peace. Sold off a ton of stuff and thankful to only want the BC3s and nothing else. These for sure are nice enough for me to reconsider that and cop too but thankfully I’ve let go of wanting/“needing” in general so it’s not the end of the world if I try for these and strike out at retail.

I think JB hoodwinked all of us with that bogus 23,000 number for the NGs.

…that number was horsebleep and drove the resell price way up.

i'm guessing this is gonna be the shape moving forward, if they're gonna share the same SKU number as the previous 85 releases. would be weird if they changed the shape next year then change it again for the next one.

i do get some people's sentiments because it does look off compared to the current shape and even the regular OG highs but if it'll have a better fit overall i'm all for it

I have no problem with them releasing a mid cut pe matching MJs pairs. But honestly I thought the 85 cut was supposed to be that. The only 85 pair I own is the Black Varsity/Black Chicago version. To me those hit more true to what he wore shape wise. The OG high was supposed to represent more of the released pairs from that time. If the shape gets lowered from those, 85 cut, then now Im confused.

to be fair, he had a lot of iterations of the jordan 1 that differ from the retail versions, so it is a bit confusing. but JB must have some kind of story/marketing behind this change so it's better to just wait and see i guess lol
