Jordan Brand will be remastering (building better quality shoes) starting in 2015

Nike is fully aware of the mold/shape problem. They might seem like they are run by a bunch of idiots, but they know exactly what they are doing. It's all about $$$$$$$$

The decline in quality for a lot of products is more a symptom of captialism then anything else. Nike really has no reason to "remaster" their product and spend more in operating costs (the price hike still isn't widening that profit margin by much). People still buy the retro Jordan's and they always sell out. I could see if the popularity waned, see a decrease in sales but it seems quite the contrary.

I think JB is going to run out of ideas eventually. If it wasn't for hip hop culture where would they be?

Law 21: Play a sucker to catch a sucker. Seem dumber than your mark.

Nike has their customer base in the palm of their hands.

EXACTLY. As ridiculous as it sounds, they did poor retroes and materials for so many years JUST to retro a proper shoe.

@'FrameofAmadeus' ^48 Laws of power , excellent book to have on deck, along with Sun Tzu Art of War, and Behold a pale horse.

People here can ***** and complain all they want on the quality, but be honest you are still buying them regardless.

 for nostalgic/wearing purposes

^@'Nemesis' -Majority will, but some such as myself wont . If theyre on point and a pair Id like to add, then I will.

Seems alot of the time, hype is a attention seeking issue that plays more towards teenagers and young adults.

Once someone has reached a point were theyre comfortable with themselves, and care free of what others think ,do ,or say, Theyll typically only buy what they deem is worth their money.

Outside influences at time can cloud that ability to see things for what they truly are.

And what are they truly as they are? I've made this point before but sneakers are never truly just sneakers. They are that, yes, but also something more. That's why you post on this site and so does everyone else. There's ideology built-in the sneakers you buy, its symbolic power meaning whatever it does currently, and a few of those meanings would cause a furor with people here so I'll keep my mouth shut. My point is you buy them more than the sneakers as "they are".

my bad lol..we good have a rep on me

There's another point that nobody seems to be mentioning, and that is that the people who frequent this board aren't the majority of JB's customers.  I don't mean this in a negative way but the nerds in here doing research comparing a mold from 1985 or 1999 to the current shoe, the ones going in fine detail into the quality of the leathers between the two and etc etc are not the majority of the people buying the Nikes.

I see the same thing on technology forums where people are going bat**** crazy talking about open source Android and 64bit this and the other thing, but the regular tech consumer just wants something that's simple and works.  Its the same with the shoes, the majority of people buying them don't know the history of Jordan let alone the history of the mold and past quality of the shoe.

With Nike consistently selling out J's in minutes, and with the majority of the customer base not having an issue with the product, why would we expect that JB will change anything?  They don't care about the few who complain when 99% of their customers are happy with the way it is.  The remaster program isn't a way to make us on NT happy, its just another way to build extra hype behind the brand.

^^^^ With all due respect brah, but that post is a whole bunch of nothing

I'm not trying to go at you, and when I get home I will expand more, but most NT members except we are part of the vocal minority
Na that's cool Im willing to hear your point out.  But you're gonna have to come with something real good to sway me off my position.

That's an expensive price to pay for nostalgia bro.

I make sure that the stuff I buy is really worth it. If it's great but the price is steep, i'll pass.

If you mean for the sake of Nostalgia & popular trends, autos, planes (from then or thens yesteryear) etc @the time sneaker was created which triggers the nostalgia,Id have to agree..
Although not everyone will buy into that, many will, but not all. Im more referencing quality ,
I for one thoroughly inspect mine prior purchasing, Ive walked out many of times if flaws were to abundant on multiple pairs I sorted thru.

No it's not. Tell that to go guy who buys a chevalle that his father once own. To him the 15 to 20k is well spent but to Joe blow on the street that's like a fairly new foreign. Might be midsize but she European doe :lol

Chicago 1's, Neutral Grey Lows, Hare 1's, and AM 90's are the shoes that I'll be copping this year. If the White/Black/Red 9 rumor is true, then I'll cop that too.

Let's see if JB uses real 3M on the AJ5 tongue. They switched to that cheaper reflective material that is nowhere near as good as real 3M.
My guess is that they'll cheap out and not pay extra for real 3M even though they'll charge us more for a "remastered" shoe.
