Jordan 1 Chicago - Reimagined aka Lost and Found - November 19, 2022

When did Nike start putting the number of the model in the box? None of my OG 11-12-13-14 have them. They just say "Air Jordan".

It’s there on my OG 12 and up. Some OG 7s have it, but it was just a remnant.

Earliest I remember is the 6’s but it was kind of all over the place…Maybe even earlier than that but 🤷‍♂️ …Some would say “Air Jordan” - some “Air Jordan VI” - some “Air Jordan 6”…It’s been a while but I seem to remember the 8’s being the worst about having random labels…

Whole thing was scattershot and I’d even go as far as to call it an afterthought…I mean look at the XI I.E. for example…Conventional theory is that the “I.E.” was set on the wrong line when the label got set 😂…Tinker has even said he has no idea what it means…

Next time I'm at my parents' place where my OG's are, I'll look and see what my earliest numbered pair is. Definitely kinda wild how all over the place Nike was with that, even within model years.

They started putting the numbers on the 12.

They also put some on the 13 and the 14 and then on the 15 with the face style boxes moving forward. There are instances they put the numbers on baby/toddler/grade school pairs of OGs as well. I had a couple photos saved but it's deep in a folder. Here's an OG 6 GS

This is kinda what I remember, but I wasn't 100%. For some reason, my brain is saying my XI lows were numbered, but again, not 100%.

It was definitely all over the place…Not digging deep tonight but a quick google search, including a screen grab MJO23DAN MJO23DAN was nice enough to throw up in one of his vids…Even the ‘95 1’s showed the number…I mostly remember the varying box labels being prevalent with the 8’s for some reason…

Nike really screwed us by taking Jordans and other marquee Nikes out of stores like JC Penney, Academy, Dillards, etc.

It didn't just hurt the stores, it gave customers less places to find them and find them on sale.
When was the last time they were in JC Penney?

This Lost and Found gimmick ain't nothing new by Nike. They did the same **** with the Stranger Things collab a few years ago

Nike also did the "Lost at Sea" theme on a Nike SB collab, story being that a cargo shipment of nike products fell into the ocean and got lost at sea and then washed up on shore with the shoes all distressed. And you can find that surprise surprise "cracked leather"

This lost and found is just driving up the hype even more. Im less optimistic I can secure a pair for retail.

Apparently these will be plentiful. Biggest GR for a Jordan 1. Will still be a sellout though.
Just like with playoff 11s having a stock of a million and still selling out, it's all about hype. If the hype is there the bots will being eating
