Hoping to get a job as soon as i get back from overseas

I wasn't jobless, but I was looking to relocate from the bay to L.A. (Wife is in her second year of school at UCLA and long distance relationships suck). Relocating has been a struggle with companies wanting to interview asap, low balling me, and not believing the reason as to why I want to move.

Finally after months of searching I landed a job in Santa Monica. Same pay, but much more growth opportunity. Looking forward to it.

My friends...

After 6 legit months of unemployment (hundreds of applications, 12 interviews, 6 that came down to the last step...) I finally got a job.

Starts at 50K doing inside sales for a start up style software company in the East Bay, with another 20K in expected bonus for the year.

Huge come up since my last job was about 45K.

Keep grinding, keep interviewing, it will happen

My company let all of us go about a month and half ago. Fortunately I got a grant from Goodwill through Career Connections for training to get my A+ and a few other certificates as well. If you are into IT and not working I would look into this as it add to your resume and may help you get a better job in the end. What else do you have to lose besides some couch time? It also shouldnt have any effect on your unemployment as well.

Was out of work for about 2 months, but got word this morning that I'm starting Monday working an office/payroll at NASA. This is my first job since graduating from college in May. Starting out at 30k.

Stay strong breauxs. Something will come up.

Anyone know what the pay is like in a casino working as a dealer? I heard a commercial the other day about some 12 week free course to learn how to deal cards for various games and at the end your guaranteed an interview. Can anyone shed light?

I graduated in May with my ADN (Nursing), took my boards in mid July and passed them on the first try. Didn't wind up getting my license for almost a month due to an expunged DWI that was somehow still on my record after 7 years. After finally getting that cleared up, I was already 3 1/2 months behind all the other May graduates in finding jobs. ALL of the new grad jobs had been gobbled up by July and they told me to wait until December (like what the hell am I supposed to do in the meanwhile?!). Finally seem to be making some traction with a nurse recruiter at the local hospital in my county that I never wanted to work for. I had delusions of grandeur coming out of school thinking because I was an attractive, white male going into a female dominated workforce that I'd be hired in a week. Boy was I wrong.

I've never felt this beaten down before.
