Jobless and Frustrated NTers check in VOL. WE NOT-WORKIN!!!

Hiring managers seem to never do their job. I have been working 32 hours a week part time for a behavioral organization. They were terrible in contacting me, but since I put it a crazy amount of effort in contacting them they eventually gave me the position.

When I was sitting at home playing PS3 all day, no hiring managers were contacting me. Yesterday while I was out eating with the fellas, a rehab center called for for a aide position I applied for in the Summer. See what happened when you finally find a job? Smh

anyone have experience/advice on working at the casino either as a dealer or slots technician? i have some leads into a few casinos in nor-cal. my options right now are to either apply at these casinos through a pit boss' recommendation or look for a pt job and start a pharm tech program in april. sigh.. 2013 has been rough so far.

anyone in brooklyn NY looking for a part time physical therapy aide job send me a PM. pay is probably not that great but you can probably get 20 hours a week

I graduated last May and have had no luck finding a job. I used to check into this thread on the reg but after months of applying around I finally landed a full time gig.

After four long interviews I got hired at "Quidsi" which is at exchange place in Jersey City for a full-time customer service rep job. Pay is whack (35K) but I get health benefits and all that. My hours are kinda wild tho. Im going to have to work Wed-Sunday from 4-1230am which means my happy hour on a Saturday would be the time clubs get poppin in the city.

Anyway point is...keep grinding and don't give up guys

i am losing my mind you guys, ive been looking for a job every night since NYE and have only had 1 interview and maybe 3 phone calls, i missed a call from the goodwill last night, hoping they try back tonight :frown:

i feel the same bro ^ it has been about a year and a half since I graduated can't find a job to save my life. Going crazy student loan bills coming in soon. I've only had about 3 phone interviews and havent been able to land anything. My lack of experience is killing me. :smh:

Back in this thread again. Just got canned a week ago for arguing with the managers. It was a commission only job that required workers to be grimy hustlers so I'm not gonna miss it, wasn't my type of work. I applied at a hospital as a sleep center technician, a girl i know have me the inside scoop b/c her bf works there. God knows i need a breakthrough.

You thought about taking a lesser position somewhere just to get money in your pockets and to pay bills? If you already haven't of course.

Good luck man. Sometimes you gotta make tough choices like that. Keep your head up and stay positive.

voicemail on my house phone is weird i dont think it works, and the caller id doesnt show what area code the call came from :frown:

I'm not jobless, but am looking for a job in another city 4 hours away from where I currently live. Do employers actually look at the address listed and would that be look at negatively? I have asked co workers about it and they said it shouldn't cause people move all the time, but one job I applied for, they had a note in the job description saying they wouldn't pay for moving fees and something like local applicants only. I have a business degree so its all entry level jobs so I'm thinking there is plenty of applicants applying who are qualified. Before, I used a local address and had more luck in getting interviews, but that may just be a coincidence.

What's your industry? Also..... being an engineer can't you solve this problem? (I'm an engineer as well)

What's your industry and why do you need a recruiter? Also what's wrong with the current situation

I'm willing to help anyone, feel free to PM me or just post to this thread.
I'm also in Houston and looking for a oil/gas job again... I worked at marathon oil in h.s. but quit to attend college. I've worked in procurement/ logistics the last 3 years and did that while at marathon for two years.

Just need help with leads...

I've been striking out with jobs left and right lately. Having interviews here and there getting amped for the job only to find out I didn't get the position. It's not that I can't do it I'm super enthused and willing to learn I just wish I had an opportunity. Well my situation is that I'm currently a college student and I'll be having a free summer since I'll be transferring during the summer to another school closer to home. I'm seeking work around the clayton county, GA henry co. GA area. Any one from around these areas willing to help a fellow NT brethren out lmk please. Will be appreciated. I'm a hardworker and all that good stuff. Got good grades in school and etc. On the deans list. Well any help would be appreciated.

Been unemployed since November. been searching for a full time since I graduated last May.

Got an interview in the am tho, can't say I'm excited about the actual job itself, but the opportunity to work (possibly) is always good.

Present.

I've had 3 interview this year for decent paying jobs, went through all the necessary steps to get hired, only to be told at the end that they had picked someone else.

All three jobs could've been turned into careers at the company, and the lowest paying job was like 14 and some change an hour. :smh:

My lack of work/income is starting to be detrimental...
