I no longer give the slightest of damns about Ye's album. Both of those videos were horrible, and I thought him and Jermaine were gonna drop classics this month...ahh the disappointment.

Exactly! The only thing dope about the "Onsite" performance is when the beat switches. It's looking like the first Ye album I haven't bought in a while :{

This album does get better with more listens. I just don't think anything will top Cole World for me.

I felt like I was watching my brother make it as he finally dropped his debut. The amount of emotion pouring out of that album, my goodness. The feels and chills I got when I first spun it

Can't lie I was a little dissappointed with everyone's opinions on the album in this thread.

But I personally love this album. Didn't even skip a song. Sideline story had skips (cole word, mr nice watch, workout)

Buying regardless cause Im a huge supporter of Cole

listening now and this is how i feel. im liking what i hear. some people are overly critical...some may be really disappointed. trick is enjoy it for yourself and not let the thread cloud your judgement. ima jcole fan and he hasn't disappointed with his quality of music, lyrically and production.

I really want to hear Nas opinoin on Let Nas down, or maybe he come with a remix on why he felt the way he did with workout

^^^ Giving Nas a verse on it would be a dope idea

Am I the only one who thinks Cole should've kept this for himself 8o

SN: IDGAF what y'all say, those new Ye songs intrigue me. The track w/ Travis Scott is dope too, fam didn't post that one >D

The Jig is Up is straight flames. Its exactly what this album is missing. A banger where he just snaps

We now judge every hip hop album off GKMC until something surpasses it.. this did not. Huge cole fan, but I cant escape the feeling of being let down. Album does have some records but NOT what i was expecting.. Sophomore Jinx? all the greats felt it (cept BIG)

GKMC is not the standard for which albums should be judged.

Outta here with that.

It was a good album, but come on now.

IDK about all that. Logical fans of music are not doing this. There are people in this thread including myself who I believe have given the album fair criticism and I think that criticism has nothing to do with GKMC.

JCole's first solo wasnt that great imo. This album is better but not by much. Cole's biggest problem is he feels he must live up to all these silly standards.

Also, he should have saved Tears For ODB, Kenny Lofton and Cole Summer for this album. Kept Villuminati, Let Nas Down, Power Trip, Crooked Smile, Forbidden Fruit, Chaining Day, Trouble and Rich ******. This would be a much stronger album in my opinion.

This is a grown man's album. The average hip hop fan wont appreciate this. This feels like a 90s album. I dig it completely.

Cole's music has matured tenfold. Its nice to see an artist evolve rather than remain stagnant and regurgitate the same ish on every subsequent album.

by the looks of it, this album is gonna be better than Yeezus, i might be wrong tho.

Why do I love this album so much. Lol.... I already know truly yours 3 is gonna be nice too (since TY1 and 2 were dope)

this stands alone with krits album as the only two rap albums worth listening to this year

I am giving it fair criticism though.. its not better than gkmc and most of us would have expected it to be greater than or equal to.. IMO cole has gotten progressively worse with his releases. His throw aways> his albums.

*sidenote I dont compare all artist to GKMC just artists I feel are in the same category.. and why shouldn't we use it as a standard? name a better debut in the last 2 yrs?

I don't judge albums with expectations of being greater or equal to another album....when it comes to a review thats not an objective way to evaluate something. Using another album as a standard is not fair to the album that you are reviewing/judging.

First off BIG suffered through the sophomore jinx just as much as anyone else. LAD was a bloated double album and it should have been just one CD.

Secondly GKMC is not even in the top 10 hip hop albums of all time, so how are you going to say that it is currently the standard that all hip hop albums are judged by? I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but if you think thats the standard for all of hip hop I have to assume that you started listening no more than 3 years ago.
