Overal he's worth 90 million. Rule makes an estimated 7.5 million in touring in Europe and Asia, where he has an extremely strong fanbase internationally. But he's not an A list celebrity.
I do agree, Snoop is an icon...A list no.

matter fact it was talked about on wendy williams and the view... and to the guys saying jay-z.... to be truthful many other age group and demographics here in the states wouldnt really know who he was if not for beyonce... hell kanye is more diversally known then jay-z. Dre is even just off the headphones alone. Ppl are equating who does what better or who they like better and equating it with wwho is more known.
Hell when snoop did the name change it was yahoo/twitter number 1 trending topic. Only time jay-z been that way is when he was associated with another person ala beyonce giving birth etc..
You know snoopis well known when you have/had white situational comedies and tv shows reference snoop on a regualr basis ie with the ****zle talk back in the day, or referencing massive weed smoke.
snoop hands down is the most well known rapper period. I mean pac dead for years on a worldwide scale is more recognized then jay-z. And if you are basically saying who is bigger in terms of whose in the public eye more often and more recent... hell wayne on a large scale would be more popular.... ceelo green even.

I don't think you can equate name recognition or popularity with being an A list celebrity. Lindsay Lohan pops up on numerous news sources on what seems to be a weekly basis. She's definitely not A list with her Lifetime network movies.

if not popularity then what....? outside of a certain group of ppl lohan isnt recognizable or well known. If a list means can go and pretty much is asked or invited to an array of different events...apart of different forums...venues etc... Then snoop still would be. Its not too many if any forums/venues/events that snoop hasnt been on/in or invited to. I mean he is accepted and recognized from serious debate/talk shows, to sport shows,tv shows,etc....
Snoop pretty much has/can go from being on martha stewart, to first and 10on sports center, to a bill maher type show, to guest hosting a snl, back to being on a rachel ray, to annoucing a sporting event....porn awards, to cohosting a fashion award show. It really isnt much snoop hasnt done.
Jay-z to be honest throught his career pretty much has been a silent killer, he rarely does show appearances on attend venues/events/forums... Unless it is a direct promotion that benefits him finnacially you dont see hear anything about jay-z.
Like someone said outside of maybe pac/eminem/ a few others wu tang (in terms of globally recognizable) snoop is the most recognizable rapper period. And is also one of the few that has/is invited and apart of any type of major celebrity forum/event in entertainment.
Its a reason he was asked to do hot pockets commercials... becausehe is well known, liked and thats what the company wanted to associate their products with. if their was an exclusive vip type of celeb event... please believe the rope would be lifted for snoop... as for jay-z... he wouldnt even attend and if he did theyd ask so wheres beyonce/kanye at

Being on a "list" implies that you can fall off, move up/down, etc depending on your career.
Snoop has transcended being on a list, he has already established himself to the point where he doesn't have to do anything.

Hell yeah... Everyone knows Snoop. Hell I've heard 50 yr old white men (yes the stereotypical 50 yr old nerdy white blue collared working man) at my job talk about Snoop and I'm sure they prob don't know who Jay-Z is.
