IS KOBE BRYANT...OVERRATED?

First the record was 12-11 now its 13-12. And you're asking me how hard is it to comprehend..when the question I asked you was WHERE DID YOU PULL THIS STAT FROM? Which you have yet to answer and the numbers still don't add up.

Since your such a Kobe meat rider, wouldnt you have remembered this during the threepeat? Or did you just jump on him after Gasol was handed to LA and automatically assumed hes the GOAT? I swear, majority of the dudes that get their Vanessa on werent even watching when Shaq was putting the squad on his back.

*warned* Chill w/ the 'meatrider' & Vanessa type comments.

You've done great presenting facts. Please keep that up.

PLEASE. :smokin

in b4 someone say those 2 article are not from reputable source lol

10 time all nba 1st team and 9 time all defensive 1st team. these are not all star selections which is a popularity contest. an overrated player would not have those selections.

I asked where you got the stat from all the extra is completely unnecessary. The articles posted are not reputable and it is an extremely small sample size especially considering I could just say the month shaq missed in the 02-03 season the Lakers went 14-2 and Kobe scored 30+ each game on top of a 9 game stretch of 40+. But I didn't because that's just dumb. Fact is Shaq needed Kobe just as much as Kobe needed shaq. Period. Shaq was putting the team on his back against Rik Smiths and the like, while Kobe did nothing on the perimeter and didn't play any defense against Iverson and the like. Correct? I mean let's be honest. Kobe contributed very little, did not pass, and was the demise of the team. Even though that's not supported by facts at all. Funny thing about stats, which is why you need to actually watch the game, I can skew them to fit my argument. Since basketball is not a simple sport and there are plenty of factors that go into a win/loss using simple reasoning...like you and other detractors have tried to, its completely idiotic. Which is exactly what I said from the beginning. Maybe you should go back, watch the games, and analyze what ACTUALLY happened. This may be too hard for you to grasp without being biased so quick, name off the guys who have reached the plateau of points, assists and rebounds Kobe has. And then name me the separate ones for each category. Then name his position. Oh yea and while you're at it go ahead and name me the guys who shot MORE than him. Then when you're done with all that check his defensive stats. Come back and tell me what 10-15 players have accomplished what he has.

Only reason All star selections were brought up was because of Goldenchild :lol

And Karl Malone has been considered one of the most overrated players in league's history and he has more 1st team selections than Kobe.

malone is not overrated

malone is not overrated
wouldn't say so either but I'm just pointing out first team selections doesn't mean you can't be thought of as overrated. Legit sportswriters have said this about Malone.

You just contradicted yourself about multiple times in this last post.

The FACT is Lakers record without Kobe was 25-7. How is that not reputable? Go check out the games Kobe missed, add it up for yourself.

Fact is Shaq needed Kobe just as much as Kobe needed Shaq"

How is this a fact? Thats called an Opinion.

name off the guys who have reaches the plateau of pts, assists, rebounds Kobe has. Then when you're done check his defensive stats

Are these not stats, or are they just funny when they dont benefit Kobe?

Whats amazing to me is how facts and stats are only relevant when in Kobes favor, but when they arent, its "not reputable" or " not accurate" or "idiotic". All I did was give you W/L records with and without Kobe during the threepeat, were they too bias? I never once said Kobe was over rated. You assumed that because the stats I provided didnt favor your stance on the subject.

shaq won zero rings in orlando. shaq needed kobe just as kobe needed shaq.

Never said that you said he was overrated. Read. They needed each other that is a fact. Was Shaq closing games? No. Was Kobe the main option? No. They played their respective roles period and thus needed each other. Not an opinion. Never in my post did I disagree the Lakers were worse with Shaq as opposed to Kobe. So no I did not contradict myself. I said the sample size you used, which is from an unreputable site, was small. It is. I did not disagree with the records ever. If you read my entire post I said it would be too difficult for you to watch games without bias so look at the stats. As in since we want to use stats use then ALL not just the ones that support your current argument. In fact the only reason we are even engaging is because you asked is it unfathomable that Kobe is top 15. Yes it absolutely is. I said name 10 players with better careers and you haven't. Then you post about the record during the 3 peat. And I said post players with the same stats as Kobe and you haven't. My posts directed towards you have nothing to do with my stance. You're just using what you want to support what you want. Regardless of if their facts or not I asked for totality which you can not, nor anyone else, argue against. Kobe may have the most missed shots, won 3 rings with Shaq, not have the greatest efficiency, ect. But he easily has one of the best 10 careers ever so calling him overrated is completely idiotic. Especially when the reasons used against him are the same ones used for others. That's stupid. Is it not?

shaq won zero rings in orlando. shaq needed kobe just as kobe needed shaq.

Both Kobe and Shaq won without each other. Saying one person needed the other more is an Opinion. If we start using these as facts then I can say

Fact is Kobe needed Derek Fisher as much as Derek Fisher needed Kobe.

Wrong. Those are still pop contests. Kobe deserved 2nd team last year?

or 1st from 06 onwards over Wade? lulz

fisher was a great role player. every team that won championships has had great role players. the discussion is if 2 alpha caliber players needed each other and imo i think so.

^ My point exactly, you think so. And thats fine. But Im saying, its an opinion, not a fact.

fans vote for all nba team? a panel votes for them so how is that a popularity contest.

youre right. but a more logical case can be made that shaq and kobe needed each other instead of shaq/kobe needing fisher.

And Derek Jeter wins the gold glove every year :lol

Popularity Contest

baseball is baseball and basketball is basketball. a panel not fans select all nba teams. the all star game is a popularity vote and not based on merit.
