Im a Socialist!!!

Yeah i said it, people need to do their research and really understand what a socialist believes and what they want for the country, i think its ideas andideals make for a more just and happier society than free market capitalism. I dont think capitalism is all bad, i think it is important to have capitalisticfeatures in a socialist plan but overall i think the socialist have the right idea when it comes to class struggle being the number one reason for conflict inany society. What do you guys think?

I respect some of the socialistic ideals but I admittedly don't know enough about socialism to really speak on it.

i hope no one is ignorant to fully knock socialism being that a lot of government plans in United States are based off of Socialist ideas. . national healthinsurance , Social Security, Well-fare, Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal creations, and more. .

hey bro different strokes for different folks. but more power to you. as long as your happy who cares what you are.

I'm not going to get into a debate with anyone, but after talking to my American relatives, the message that is "socialism" that's beingdelivered down there is crazy. If you end up a socialistic nation like us in Canada, you'll be just fine. HOVKid can make his $800G's a year and stillhave the same lifestyle.

It's such a fear word now in America, I think it's hilarious.

You got people on welfare standing out in the streets yelling about protecting our country from socialism

so funny.

niketalk has some pretty useless responses these days. Why bother responding if you are not interested in the topic? I can concur because I think more peoplecan enjoy a good quality of life if socialism is the prevalent foundation of a system. Socialism doesn't mean you cannot still be successful and wealthy. To me capitalism is having Kobe Bryant, Smush Parker, Luke Walton, Lamar Odom and Kwame Brown as your starting five. Socialism is more like the current Lakersteam. Kobe may not be putting up as gaudy numbers but the overall result is significantly better.

care to show me an example, because there's no such thing as a free market outside of 3rd world countries, and even most of those arecorrupted by western influence now.

You know, I really wish I was educated enough in this field to be able to participate in these discussions, but every time I try to read about economics I loseinterest too quickly. It's sad that the only economic system I'm educated in is communism, and that is for all the wrong (from a communist standpoint)reasons.
