I already expect every athlete taking/took some sort of PEDs, everyone is looking for a edge up on the competition

Theirpreciouswhite sport would be back in their hands....he brought the popularity back and now they'll have him out the picture

Keep in mind that the difference between a magnificent media blowup dubbing a players legacy and reputation as "tainted forever"... and absolutely no lash back whatsoever, is simply which of those tiny, hard-to-read ingredients on the bottle are deemed legal or illegal by the league. Even though one is Domino A and the other is like Domino G, they really impact one another.
The most devastating one in my mind would be Ken Griffey Jr.
Or maybe a player that is not known for his power but rather his efficient hitting. Ala, Joe Mauer. You still get Twins fans calling into radio stations in Minnesota claiming that Mauer used steroids in 2009 because his contract year was on the horizon, but stopped once his name was on the line that signified $180 million dollars was on a one-way trip to his bank account.
Joe Mauer
2009: 138 games. 28 HRs.
The years 2010-2013 accounted for 49% of Joe Mauer's games played so far into his career. These were his prime years, ages 27-30. What were his combined numbers during that 49% of his career?
2010-2013: 479 games. 33 HRs.
:x
And imagine if it came out that he did steroids in 2009 before his contract year that was supposed to be after 2010? Can you imagine how quick the fans in Minnesota would turn on the hometown hero that stayed home, because he was actually a guy that "cheated" for more $?
Nobody.
In fact I would be annoyed if my favourite players weren't doing everything they can to win.
