You keep bringing up the message of the film but what message are they displaying when they purposely whitewash the cast?

This isn't the first time and it won't be the last that Hollywood whitewashes semi-historic people of color. The biggest weapon to combat the ignorance is to educate on the true historical context of these figures.
Anyway, when is that toussaint louverture movie coming out?
Look we are arguing the practice of whitewashing movies.
The damn exodus as far as historical records are concerned maybe never even happened but it principle of the matter.
All those successful black people in Hollywood and he can't get funding for a project like this?he can't get funded. a movie about a successful slave revolt where frenchmen were being lynched? we had django. they're not given us Toussaint.
glover got ripped by washington for getting that $18 mil from Chavez.
Thats all im saying but to say theyre purposely whitewashing the cast is a real prejudice thing to say

Where Spike Lee or Tyler Perry at?

They need accurate skin color to give off the right message
There are enough successful black people in Hollywood to make that film happen.because nothing else has been purposely white washed throughout history? i.e. Jesus Christ.
i fully agree, but you see george lucas had to pay for red tails.
oprah and tyler perry alone could drop the money glover would need and not even notice.
@ the idea of Spike Lee legitimately helping anyone but himself.
@ the idea of Spike Lee legitimately helping anyone but himself.Spike was just an example but I wouldn't expect to do the right thing.
Yall saying its purposely white washed when yall have no proof if it was done purposely or not, thats being prejudiceHow?

.
the only way we get these movies made is with our own movie studios

the theory of jesus cant be purposely white washed if nobody knew what the man actually looked liked, if thats the case what does that make the term black jesus?
