Why the NY Times is suddenly taking down Harvey Weinstein

The hypocrisy of the liberal left when it comes to sexual harassment is embedded and endemic. No sooner does a Conservative or Republican so much as utter an offensive comment and the media and entertainment industries are all over him like bottle flies on excrement.
There is no better example than that of Donald Trump who is neither a paragon of virtue nor the most astute POTUS in US history. Yet compared with the behavior of say, a JFK who ran the White House as his own private bordello, or his pathetic younger brother who likely murdered one of his doxies in a moment of drunken premeditated fear, or Bill Clinton who is the poster boy for vile behavior and consummately poor taste, Trump is a virtual eagle scout.
Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, we are now informed by the New York Times, is a serial abuser of starlets, and has to his credit at least eight hush-money payoffs to young ladies of questionable virtue and buyer’s remorse. Apparently, the Times tells us, this is not exactly a Pulitzer prize-worthy scoop. In Hollywood circles Mr. Weinstein’s erotic proclivities are hardly news, and date back as much as two decades if not longer. His modus operandi, it seems, is to invite ingénues up to his hotel room where he would await them naked and ask for favors in exchange for advancing their careers or, conversely, not quashing them.
One can, of course, ask what young lady with half a brain would go up to a mogul’s hotel room unchaperoned and expect to find anything other than a dirty old man bartering stardom for sexual favors. What exactly where these girls thinking? And who forced them to comply, or even remain in Weinstein’s room? Surely he did not hold them at gunpoint.
Nevertheless such questions do not explain the omerta that prevailed for over twenty years whereby Harvey Weinstein was never once called on the carpet, red or otherwise, for his loathsome conduct. Rather, the invisible shield that protected him was his well-funded adherence to liberal dogma and his largesse to the machinery of political correctness which is de rigueur in Hollywood, the MSM and academia. One does not touch the sacred cows who prime the liberal pimp, excuse me, pump.
Donald Trump utters the word ‘*****’ and a million hollering dames march on Washington clad in vaginal millinery, while Hollywood leading ladies scream like banshees, most notably Ashley Judd. Yet Ms. Judd was one of the very ‘victims’ allegedly assaulted by Harvey Weinstein years and years ago, yet she chose then to keep her hysterical mouth shut in order to advance her own Hollywood career.
So the question – and it’s a big one – is why did the Gray Lady, that pinnacle of journalistic probity called the New York Times, suddenly find it necessary to violate the conspiracy of silence and share this information on page one only now?
Can it be because barely a month ago, Weinstein announced his plan to direct a movie based on Leon Uris’s epic Warsaw Ghetto novel ‘Mila 18’? Can it be because Weinstein, despite his bleeding heart liberalism, despite his having shoveled truckloads of dollars into the Obama coffers, despite his blind obeisance to the Clinton corruption machine, crossed the Israel-hating Time’s red line and declared himself a Zionist and a lover of Israel? Had Weinstein instead come out in support of BDS is there a chance of a snowball in hell that the Times would have taken the liberty of bringing down such a lion of liberalism?
Make no mistake, the Times’ decision to destroy Harvey Weinstein is not a harbinger of greater fairness and objectivity. Do not for a moment think that this is some opening salvo in leveling the playing field and declaring what is bad for the conservative goose is equally bad for the liberal gander. No. This is merely the New York Times issuing a powerful warning to anyone of prominence in its tightly controlled liberal corral to be very careful. Because the slightest manifestation of pro-Israel sentiment will result in the unleashing of its bloodhounds. And the editors of the Times will not rest until they have the goods needed to destroy the Zionist culprit no matter how much money he may have given Obama and Clinton.

also another good point is how actors/actresses/musicians have this campaign against Trump but let flagrant **** in their own industry rock. Makes me think anyone famous who has a social agenda only does it when its convenient and popular to do so.

If a woman is REALLY traumatized they dont take a settlement or a role ... I have no sympathy for Harvey and likewise have NONE for these actresses who had a choice and chose ...
I don't believe he "raped" anyone ... I believe he used his position of power to rail many females ... And damn near everyone knew and didn't care ...
This whole situation is creepy ... I hope he rots in jail and I hope the women who legitimately were assaulted find peace ...

Weinstein's niche isn't what makes money and what China, the biggest market in the world wants. He's expendable. There are others in Hollywood turning out men and women who want to have their face on the screen. Everyone knew this was happening.

on paper your logic made sense to you but this is a lot of assumptions about rape victims mindstate from someone who's presumably never been raped and i dont even think "raped" is the right term here
seems like harvey holds their careers or favors over their head in exchange for sexual consent or some other weird **** like "paint your toes while i beat my meat oooh"
it's easy to say "you should be the whistleblower" but Hollywood is a small place and if you've been working your whole life to get there I can see how one would face the dilemma, especially a female who may already feel overpowered in the situation with her word vs. his
that blurry line of consent and "no one forced u to do it" is likely how Weinstein justified/justifies doing it in his head
