Guardians of the Galaxy (Film) - 8/1/14 - Starring Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Benic

Yea, I feel like GotG is basically the new star wars for the younger generation

:|
You know you're not apart of that younger generation right? :lol Nobody posting in this thread is. I'd say let them decide that.

Why are you stating the obvious sir. Because I'm not part of the younger generation I can't predict how the new generation is going to embrace GotG? Unless Disney's batch of Star Wars movies hit it out of the park, I think it's pretty safe to assume that GotG will be their standard as far as space fare goes.

For me, I was a Trekkie going up, that was my space fare standard :smokin
I wasn't talking to you but **** it applies to both of yall anyway.

Marvels only bad movies are IM2 and IM3. Period. If you read comics you'd know that every run isn't great so you shouldn't expect every movie to be.

I mean aren't there only 3 phase 3 movies so far? I mean when you are in a category with IM3 and thor 2, thats not saying much. And for Marvel as a whole, I mean there aren't too many "great" movies.

There is Cap 2, IM3, Thor2, and GotG.

I think Cap 2, IM1, Avengers, GotG and Thor2 are great. That is half the films released so far. Cap 1 and IH were good.

IMO at least. And that's is a ridiculous hit ratio

I wouldn't bother. Something tells me he is a DC stan.
Yup. Now I'm a dc stan. And last week I was a marvel Stan when I criticized man of steel in the comic con thread

Did anyone else think the collector wanted the stone for another reason? Not just his collection

IDK how old some of you guys are but the barely out of college crowd but the under 30 crowd made Star Wars popular. So we do have a say. Generation of moviegoers aint the same as x/y/millennial generation.

Thor 1 was trash. Nothing happened in that movie. Second worst. Only better than IM2

IM3 wasnt terrible but it wasnt even good either. For the most part I agree with you.

EDIT: Clearly not everyone agrees. So far my brother only hates IM3.

As for Thor 1 only the first 15 and last 20 mins of that movie mattered. I dont care to see it or anybof the IM sequels again.

IM3 is straight trash. I watched it twice and that's my absolute limit. I don't need to ever see it again.

I felt underwhelmed watching IM2 the first time. But for me, it was actually one of those movies that got better after each viewing. I wouldn't say I love IM2 but I can watch it again.

You're trolling, right? Other than iron man 2 and 3, you think every other marvel movie is good?

I think he is also trying to collect it for Thanos, probably covering all angles so he gets the stones one way or the other.

I don't think Thanos cares if he gets it from Ronan or The Collector as long as he gets it. That sounds dirty...

I'm not trolling at all. That's pretty mucy how MANY feel about all the movies thats been released. Thor 1 and 2 had great moments. Pretty much the Asgardian stuff, and only thing wrong with Cap 1 was the usage of the Red Skull. They had their faults, but they were still enjoyable. There's nothing enjoyable about IM2, and IM3 had it's moments, but it was too much wrong with it

Seen the movie. The experience would've been so much better if i didnt watched so much videos and read stuff inc. minor spoilers about this movie. Basically being in this thread on a regular :lol

Those saying it's better than Star Wars or could be the next Star Wars - wait until GotG 2 comes out, then give them that title.  Got to remember Star Wars has 6 films.  IMO, GotG was definitely more entertaining than A New Hope (IV), The Phantom Menace (I), Attack of the Clones (II), and Revenge of the Sith (III).  I would rather watch GotG in a repeated loop for eternity than watching any of the Star Wars prequels.  HOWEVER, GotG is not even close to competing with Empire Strikes Back (V) or Return of the Jedi (VI).

I'm looking forward to GotG 2 though..

It's better than the 3 recent Star Wars.

People have been waiting for a good, fun space adventure movie.

Bar not exactly that high with those 3.. Had it's moments though.. But way too far and between

I remember watching revenge of the sith and how bad anakin's acting was. His transition to the dark side was also bad. Dude switched sides so quickly and easily.

Yea. The heel turn for Anakin was super bad.

I'm sure Disney is going to work their magic touch and revitalize Star Wars.

I forgot Star Wars is now under the Disney mantle so perhaps my original statement of GotG being the new Star Wars for the new generation is hasty. Maybe the new Star Wars will be the new Stars Wars for the new generation :lol

The only thing guardians has in common with Star Wars is that it's in space.
