Those saying it's better than Star Wars or could be the next Star Wars - wait until GotG 2 comes out, then give them that title. Got to remember Star Wars has 6 films. IMO, GotG was definitely more entertaining than A New Hope (IV), The Phantom Menace (I), Attack of the Clones (II), and Revenge of the Sith (III). I would rather watch GotG in a repeated loop for eternity than watching any of the Star Wars prequels. HOWEVER, GotG is not even close to competing with Empire Strikes Back (V) or Return of the Jedi (VI).
I'm looking forward to GotG 2 though..
I'll give you Empire Strikes back. But no way was Return of the Jedi better than this. This movie is better than all star wars movies combined except Ep. V

When I said "make a Star Wars "like" movie" I meant create it's own world. No other marvel movie has done that. Look at Thor. Nobody cares about Asgard. The majority of Thor takes place on earth. Doing that grounds the movie IMO.

Physical looks definitely unparalleled, but I saw minor subtleties like Groot being protective of Rocket, just like how Chewbecca was of Han, Groot having one liners similar to Chewbacca screaming, Rocket kind of a tech junkie and involved in bounties - just like Han was...The reach is unparalleled

I'm not the biggest Star Wars buff but I feel like people are trying to coin guardians as the next big thing when it should be its own thing, well film wise. It's part of the over all MCU which would be a comparison to the Star Wars films then just one film compared to all of Star Wars. Star Wars isn't all that epic either but come next year people will be talking about its the greatest thing ever just like guardians

Most of the dudes in here probably watched The Town and think it's comparable to The Godfather.
Nah the godfather was a masterpiece except part III. If you want you could pretend part III didnt exist since it doesnt affect how enjoyable the other two were, nor do the first two rely on the existence of the third. It also wasnt based on the works of Mario Puzo.
George Lucas was behind all Star Wars films and could only get 1 right

^They confused Howard the ducks suit for Beta Ray Bills. I do remember the red but nothing that looks like Thor's costume. Some other NTer had confirmed it.

Thats because it doesnt show the front side of the person at all u see is a muscular dude covered 90% in a red cape on his hands an knees. No where near the same build/statue as howard the duck
