GoT. A spoiler discussion thread

Jon is a smaller dude and so is Beric

You think Beric looks like he's quick? Not to mention he had the fire sword so he was needed. And again, they ran plenty of times before that scene so Jon had opportunities to accurately make the assumption that Gendry would've gotten there the quickest.

Good shows doesn't escape criticism.

I want a dragon to not be taken down like a lil bird.

Benjen being wasted.

Dumb decisions like Jon wanting to get a wight in the first place

And others. That's not to say the show isn't the best out.

For some people this show is *******, dragons and ice zombies. I get it, its objectively an amazing looking show but so are the Transformer movies.

What made this show as popular as it is now and made the books as popular as they are is the narrative had a certain set of rules that no other story in the genre has.

They have thrown those rules out the window to wrap it up quick. Overall its still a great show but the difference in the quality of the storytelling from seasons 1-4 to seasons 5-now is noticeable.

I mean I understand your frustration for sure in the sense that this shortened season hasn't allowed them to flesh out the details as much as they did in the past. That part definitely sucks but overall Id say the dialogue and interactions are still top notch. I mean episode 5 was literally mostly dialogue and plot progressions. The character interactions between Sansa/Arya, Dany/Jon, Dany/Tyrion, Jon/Davos... hell Davos and everyone etc. has all been pretty good this season.

With the shortened season there had to be some give or take. Now that we are nearing the end things need to be sped up. Also, Id bet the budget has a lot to do with it, shooting that episode alone had to cost more money than like maybe 5 or 6 episodes from previous seasons. For that reason they probably needed to shorten it.

Its time for **** to hit the fan in Westeros and that is what has happened this season.

Episode was great but the whole premise of it just seemed thrown together so the WW could get a dragon.

Jon and company really thought it would be as simple as tying up a WW and getting out of there with nothing else happening? Seemed corny to me to base the entire episode on a premise that can so easily (and obviously) go wrong. Not to mention the other stuff that you guys mentioned. Still loved it though :lol.

Yeah it was really a dumb idea and a bad decision from the writers but somehow they turned it into a good episode still.

I'm still tight Jaime ain't get cooked in episode 5. Would have been perfect.

Then we could have avoid this whole Snowean's 11 fiasco that literally made no sense.

Benjen's death was pretty anticlimactic, dudes whole purpose of the show was just to show up and save mfs at the right time :lol

He did it twice and this time around was just like here take my horse. But we spose to like and be amazed by that

Are we sure Benjen can even die again?

Like the WWs basically have to be incinerated to die. So can you stab Benjen to "death"?

My only qualm at this point is that I don't see how they're going to finish this up in 7 episodes.

It's been such a slow build over the past 7 years that it's laughable to think that they'll adequately conclude wars with Cersei AND the NK/Army of the dead.

I enjoyed this show a lot, and it sucka to imagine that the conclusion may be mishandled. If this goes out as poorly as the Sopranos, I'd be pissed.

Next season a lot of the episodes are rumored to be longer so it's possible to wrap it up with not a lot of filler

the scenes with Arya & Sansa are some of the best dialogue this show has. I didn't pick up on her having anything similar to LF tho. Something else i was thinking about during that scene.... why is Arya telling Sansa all this knowing that LF is getting a hold of the info? 1) she's playing a higher level of chess or 2) LF is gonna send one of these ravens to Bravvos & let jaqen know that she's there. they've stated in the past that faceless men may not use this magic for their own personal issues.

"That man's life was not yours to take. A girl stole from the Many-Faced God. Now a debt is owed."

I'm trying to figure out why the rush job.

If they wanted to they could release the show in theaters in sets of 3 and it would make 100s millions. I don't buy that budget ****.

They tore his a*** up when Jon left

Even if they pulled him apart WW arms and legs have still been "alive" after the fact.

I've been saying for a while that with the short seasons the books will have a lot to fill in.

That maybe the real reason for the short seasons. So GRRM still gets to present the pure form of the story.

i dont think she's actually a faceless man bound to the rules that they are

i think she just got the training and he released her from those obligations

so she's free to use the abilities as she sees fit

Episode made me dislike Sansa even more. No matter how tough she tries to act, she's still a scared little girl. Her own sister got her shook :lol

Also why did Sansa send away Brienne... i couldn't tell if that was just her power tripping as usual or if their was strategy behind it. She has to know LF can't be fully trusted & she seems worried about her relationship with Arya.... why send away the one person who could settle both situations?
