social media has people wilin for attention in general. the kid came home smelling like weed and she punished him n thats cool and all. but the question is how did it get to that point? he didn't fail his classes on that day. he didnt smoke for the first time that day. so where has she been for the rest of the year(s) that he was messin up? proactive>reactive when it comes to parenting but i digress. this is not the place for that conversation
