I think that's a misconception. Yeah most dont mind the cheap stiff but there are plenty who would pay for quality. There's a market for both.
Thier is market for both and McDonald's and others can supply consumers with quality beef, but that's not thier true intentions cause at the end of the day they still need to drive profits upwards and by selling cheap meals/ beef they rather use that business model to satisfy thier bottom line and the masses they feed with anti-botic beef cause its cheaper to process.
As a consumer its in your own hands to decide what you food consume. If McDonald's and others wanted to switch from non-antibiotic beef they would done it without hesitation but that will mean the food they process will be more expensive and selling it for cheap wont be profitable for them. You'll need to pass on the price increase onto consumers and not all consumers will be acceptable to a $10-15 buger when they were getting it for $1-5 dollar.
