Imo The whole purpose of the egg on a burger is the texture and added taste of the yoke.
If you Google "burger with egg" 90% of the pictures are with sunny side up or over easy egg.
Maybe u just don't like certain textures

I don't care what the "purpose" of anything is or what 90% of the pictures tell me to do. It is food, blank canvas.
I have eaten eggs on burgers and I enjoyed the taste of it being there.
Nothing I go out of my way to make happen though.
