FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

^ i understand.

i dont eat kbbq as often as i'd like, and so when i am going to eat it i dont want to waste the calories on shoddy quality AYCE stuff. I hate to sound like an entitled prick but I wish Kang Ho Dong would just raise their prices in an attempt to thin out the herd. If its as good as everyone says it is, I wouldnt mind dropping the bucks to eat there as long as I dont have to wait.

for some reason the all you can eat kbbq spots have somewhat out grown on me. not that's bad or anything but after going to non all you can eat spots i prefer the soups and other entrees. i guess it helps that i really dont go with a crowd. love me some dongtae maeuntang and galbi jjim :lol

nah, the waits cool.

what we do is we hit up the driving range while we wait. it's the one in the F&F movie too.

there really arent a whole lot of chicken korean bbq dishes. korean bbq is mostly pork/beef. if you are just looking for korean chicken dishes in general i would recommend some version of korean fried chicken (tongdak). I prefer mine with the regular preparation, not marinated in any sauces or anything. Just fried chicken dipped in a little bit of salt and pepper with some pickled korean radish on the side is heaven on earth (along with copious amounts of soju and beer). If you want something a bit more flavorful you can try dakdoritang which is like a slightly spicy stewed chicken dish, usually made with chicken drumsticks.
Thanks for the response. I had no idea,

I will definitely try a pork dish when I go - unless I see some version of chicken like you mentioned (who doesn't love fried chicken dipped in a little s&p?)

Iv never had soft shell crab. I love seafood and it looks healthy too. **** living in australia

I've also done the patented move where you forget there's a pizza in the car and you slam on your brakes, sending pizza everywhere

I still can't figure out what soft shell crab is, but to each his own. I gotta get back to my moms place in Baltimore and try some crab now that I finally like it

I'm not a big crab fan but my friends always order softshell crab when he hit up the late night dim sum spot. A little pricey but good fried goodness.

do you guys ever ask for a fried egg on your bahn mi sandwich
Only if it's for breakfast

Hey brethren! Hope everyone's summer has been amazing. As it's starting to wind down I figure I'd post my eats for this past summer before classes bog me down.

i don't mind the wait. i just kind of grew bored of the same idea of just ban chan and meats on the grill. i prefer the korean spots that bring out entrees and soups.

never been to that range, i usually hit up the one in the griffith park

there isn't much seafood in australia ? that's surprising in a way. i thought most seafood at least in us is imported from asia. i would think it would be more accessible since it's closer to you
