FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Oh man, our favorite Mexican place has just announced they’ve closed - I’ve posted about it a couple of times here I think. It’s right across the city but totally worth it - especially for the handmade tortilla chips.

They've had a tough time this year and there are stupid roadworks for an unnecessary tram line which make it nearly impossible for people to get to them - so that broke them.

Honestly gutted.

Sadly the SBA loans and grants are what kept most of these restaurants open
But all of that money is gone by now
I’m afraid we will start seeing more restaurants close for good

Y’all ever been? Thoughts? I remember loving this place as a kid, but it’s been a while.

Roy Rogers had the crispiest, most peppery skin of any mainstream chicken spot. Their skin was very good.

Whenever I see one now, I am tempted to go but I just can never move myself to do so.

I think I last had them in 2013 and the breast was very dry.

Kenny Rogers was solid as well.

There used to be one in Laurel, MD back in the day.

First place I saw corn kernels IN cornBREAD.

That chicken leg Newman was eating looked mighty tasty
It’s the hickory that makes it so good
