FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Anyone have any tricks to preserving your berries longer. I feel like every time i was them and then put them in fridge in two days they are moldy. Should i get special containers. Should i just freeze them?
Certain fruits and veggies shouldn't be washed until you're actually going to eat them cause it causes them to spoil faster. On another note, if you have any veggies that are wilting, throw them in a contain with ice water and leave them in there for an hour or 2 and watch how they bounce back like they were never wilting.

Veggies im usually ok with. Except for Cilantro i never know how to properly store it.

^its not just you it’s everywhere. I walk into wegmans and smell nothing but pumpkin and cinnamon. This year flew smh.

Kids back in school = “fall” for purposes of marketing consumer goods. Some stores are even starting to get Halloween stuff in.

This is how I store my cilantro. I cut the stems short, pour a little bit of water, put it a red solo cup and cover it up. Doing this will make it last a couple of more days and it's not gonna get slimy on you.

Not true at all, not sure why there are people that say this. Then again folks talk up McDs coffee when it just tastes like black onion water.

People seem to downplay Starbucks quality for some reason

Sure it's nothing special but for regular black coffee it's the best of the big 3

Always a decent chance you're getting burnt or stale coffee from McD or Dunkin

Yeah Starbucks is well sourced quality stuff, even if it is a chain.

because the beans are notoriously roasted to burnt so people who aren’t really hip to coffee like that think it’s “stronger”but all I taste in Starbucks coffee is brunt beans even with there single origin offerings. Dunkin is burnt also but not as much. Starbucks blonde roast is ok tho. Light and medium roast coffee>>> dark roast coffees. The lighter the roast the more caffeine.

There’s a survey on the Popeyes receipt for free chicken?
I never bother to really look at it
Half the time I don’t even get a receipt
What are we talking about now
2 pc?
4pc?
Family meal?
Either way I’m on a diet
No more Popeyes for the rest of the month

Of course these big chains are going to roast dark. It provides consistency

If I find myself at a Starbucks (rarely) I'll get a Pike's Place black. Same very regular cup every time

I do enjoy French/Italian dark roasts, so maybe that's why Starbucks doesn't offend me
