FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Unexpected day off for some errands and lunch with my girl. This place gives you the best bruschetta and bread and has the best salads. My daughter got their parm crusted pasta. I had their parm crusted chicken salad

You should try making this stuff on your own. I’ve always loved Italian food the most. I started watching Notanothercookingshow on YouTube and making his recipes. Dude is awesome and teaches you how to make a lot of dishes.

I’ve made risotto, meatballs, my own tomato sauce, bolognese, a lot of the pastas and Italian dishes he has. It’s changed the way I cook and I found myself wanting to cook more and feed my family. Going to work on the red wine braised short rib and homemade gnocchi for tomorrow.

This all looks amazing. I do cook sometimes lol.

Damn, I don't remember the last time I've heard anyone make a reference to sizzler. I thought that establishment died in the early 2000s

There are still a handful of sizzlers. There was one in queens up until a few years ago. I think the ones that remained somehow were independent.

Do you all remember the first dish you learned how to make and do you still make it? Mine was the simplest plate but I swear it was so good and I still make it once in a while. Basically it’s penne pasta with beef stroganoff now it’s not the fancy homemade sauce but made using campbells cream of mushroom. I really should learn to make it from scratch but literally super easy and tasty.

It seems like many people's first dish was something involving pasta, ground meat, red sauce.

I think that was mine as well.

Pasta + jarred sauce (Rao's) and grilled meats

Can't really remember my first multi-ingredient dish was that involved more than the basics

I wanna say something like carnitas or crab cakes
