i dont think i would enjoy my meal if i ate rice using a fork though

it's called pastel en hoja, it's from the Dominican Republic

it's similar to a tamale, but we use green banana and a few other root vegetables for the dough and we wrap it in a banana leaf
 
Sweet potato x pecan is a very underrated combo. Souffle with the creme bru lee treatment :nthat:

Oh, if it uses green vs sweet, then I would be for it
 
Anybody in my area have a suggestion on where to get Tamales? I've never tried them.

jarochita in manassas. It’s a hike but worth it. Similar to LA tamales. Don’t go to jarochita 2 in Arlington. Went there last year and they were trash. Now is the time. We order so much they always give me free shirts and a meal when we go lol. My dad usually takes 2 dozen home.
