FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Should not have watched this at work. I am starving.

How we feel about Philly's outside of Philly?

Are yall team provolone or cheez wiz?

I'm kinda anti-cheesesteak in general, but I have no problem with cheesesteaks outside of Philly because there's really nothing about the sandwich that makes it unique to Philly. You can get all of the ingredients just about anywhere and they'll be of equal or superior quality.

I'm pro-wiz though. A sandwich like that needs crappy, processed cheese.

its like having pizza in ny... yes anywhere else makes it but it doesnt mean its just as good... same thing with a cheesesteak in philly....they are known for their cheesesteak and you can get it anywhere in philly and it will be good... here in nj some places are ok but some are just terrible and its not really comparable to philly outside of one really good spot which is meatheadz...i went to this one spot 2 weeks that specializes in cheesesteaks and it was terrible... there was absolutely no taste...i took pics but was too embarrassed to put it in here lol

There are some good places outside of Philadelphia (Carl's in NY, Pop's in Las Vegas, Boo's in LA). The problem with most cheesesteaks outside of Philadelphia is usually:
1. Not enough meat
2. Meat chopped too thin
3. Soft rolls/non-Amoroso rolls

I'm team provolone 4 life.

Making tacos tonight, curious to see how some of you make yours.
What do you marinate the meat in and what ingredients you use for salsa. Thanks in advance!

I'm using beef flank and I went to my local taco spot and picked up some freshly made tortillas (https://www.myhomestate.com).
Just make sure you properly toast those CORN tortillas.

Last batch I made, I used Ground Turkey. Seasoned it with Black Pepper, Salt, Garlic, Onion Powder, Chili Powder, Cumin, Ceyenne Pepper.

Topped it with Cabbage and Green Onion and Cilantros

Reading Terminal maybe my favorite food place in the world.

If you’re there for breakfast, you gotta go to the Dutch Eating Place or grab a donut from Beiler’s

Yeah it was actually my first time going there. Loved it. Feel like we kinda goofed by getting 2 sandwiches at DiNics (even though they were awesome) which filled us up. A lot of the other stands looked really good. I'd eat at that place every day if I lived/worked in that area

L&T don't belong on hot sandwiches..... to me

a burger maybe if done right and not left to wilt on the patty for 10 mins before eating

i agree... only time i get lettuce and tomato is on CFA chicken sandwich, shake shack and in n out burgers and thats cuz it comes like that... but other than that i never get it on hot sandwiches... that fat sandwiches i always post on here they have some sandwiches with it and i tell the chef no rabbit food on mines please...

Lettuce and "Tomato's" are just something there out of tradition. IMO, they don't make ANY sandwich better.

If I want some greens on a cold sandwich, I will throw some Spinach on there and not some basic lettuce.

"Tomato's" just add WATER to sandwiches, and I don't need sogginess introduced for something that really isn't adding much flavor.

I never thought of that but I agree.

I like tomato, good ones. Not the kind you cut open and are white.

don’t refrigerate tomatos it turns them to mush.

I RARELY eat lettuce. Mainly eat lettuce when I go to Fatburger, and that's because they shred it. Don't know why I prefer it that way

Tomatoes have to be charred or cooked down for me to eat them
