Don't think Max is saying he wants no pomp and circumstance, just that F1 is leaning too heavily into the circus surrounding itself lately, often prioritizing it over the cars and teams and the storylines that have historically been the driver (pun intended) of passion and emotion in the sport. Just this week, F1 promoted the Netflix Cup ten times more than the Brawn GP doc, feels like such a miss to make long term fans out of those who aren't well versed in F1 but are interested.
Side note, saying this as a Hamilton fan, but Derek Warwick, a former BRDC President,
calling LH the undisputed GOAT is probably more of a conflict of interest than having a dealership for over 30 years that sells cars from a brand that has been involved with various teams over that time. I remember in 2016/17 when Max fans hated Warwick just as much for giving him penalties too
The fundamental issue is still the inconsistency with the stewarding, and it has been for years. Everyone in this sport has had some gripe with the stewarding and been vocal about it, including Max and RB.
Never thought I'd see the day where I have to stay up until 1 AM to watch a race in my own country but here we are, fully expecting this to be a ****show with some incidents, hope I'm wrong and we get some close racing between Charles and Max for more than two corners though
