great documentary

laugh.gif
the dancing and celebrating

too many quotes, basically calling out deon and uf

all my boys were laughing whenever they showed bernies alcoholic self

i would have liked to see jim kelly comment on how it was prior, it could have benefited but just being picky

heard on lebatrards podcasts that they cut out a lot of good material but overall it was still nice (hope its on the dvd)

the crazy part about this was even though they were some bad boys the graduation rate per what Johnson stated went from 30% when he first arrived at Miamito over 80% by the time he left for the Dallas Cowboys

My guess is probably because he died after he left the school. The documentary didn't really touch on anything that happened outside of UM. I was kind ofsurprised by that. I thought they would've touched on it by talking about the "Cane curse" but they didn't touch that subject.

Ya, but they talked about him AFTER he left the school and how he came back to the school for games and what not.

There are talks, nothing concrete yet.
There were talks. ND backed down though and now it's not gonna happen. There were talks with UF too and they back away as well.

Most UF fans actually want Miami back on the schedule.

It's just their AD Foley who doesn't want to play Miami for whatever reason. Some want him gone so they can get us back on the schedule.

I'd love to have UM back on the schedule.

Foley doesn't want to give up the extra home game every other year. Especially with the neutral site game in Jax. Football pays for a lot of teams that arevery good. In order to be good in all these non-revenue generating sports, UF needs as much money as possible. That's in addition to all that is done forfootball. I'm not saying it's right or wrong but that's the logic behind it.

Back to the topic. The documentary was very good (as all these 30 for 30 ones have been). I'm not even gonna lie those Miami teams were good as hell andentertaining and if I was a Miami guy I'd love the fact that they would beat your **% and talk junk doing it.

That's not the logic. THat's the excuse.

I'm sick of UF fans using money as the reason your AD doesn't want to play an in-state rival more than once in a decade.

C'mon now. You can't be serious. Don't even try to explain it because I've heard that BS a hundred times from UF fans about how it's notworth it financially to play Miami for UF. Or how your schedule is too tough or whatever other BS excuse y'all like to make up.

I thought it was decent, but could have been better. I grew up watching/going to these games. I watched every game from the Fiesta Bowl against PSU until thesuspensions, so it was more of nostalgia piece for me. I wish Corbin would have touched on some of the cocaine use from players on the team. The FSU rivalrywasn't done justice, they skipped over the 1987 and 1989 games. They also didn't touch on Jim Kelly, which was the first big time recruit they got.

A few points I took away...

1. Although everyone in Miami thought Vinny threw the Penn State game, but if you every watched him in Tampa Bay, dude couldn't read coverages worth adamn. He just got exposed one game too early
2. The Cotton Bowl versus Texas was ridiculous (in a good way). Them dudes just didn't care
3. Schnellenberger looked a little salty about leaving the team for the USFL. I never knew why he left after winning the chip in 83
4. I never realized that there was that much criticism of the program by the school officials. They didn't mind collecting those bowl checks, though.
5. The 1983 recruiting class was outrageous - Jerome Brown, Alonzo Highsmith, Melvin Bratton, George Mira Jr., Tolbert Bain, Winston Moss, Brian Blades, etc.
6. U knew Luke was going to be in it

It isn't worth it financially to play Miami. The Swamp will be sold out no matter who we play. To play Miami UF has to give up millions of dollars (fromticket sales, concessions, etc.), and Jeremy isn't ready to do that. College football is a business, let's not pretend it isn't.

Why should UF essentially pay 4 million every other year to pay Miami? Can you make a list of logical reasons UF should play UM? And you being a rivalisn't a logical reason. I want Miami on the schedule but that;s because I'm a fan and I don't have to balance a budget.

If you honestly believe UF would lose money by playing UM. Ratings wouldbe insane. Just stop. Your AD is only concerned with ensuring the easiest way possible to NC's and undefeated seasons. There's a reason your OOCschedule is garbage.

Well the documentary sure does explain why Canes fans can't live in the present

But on the real, I actually enjoyed the documentary. The pistol shooting in the endzone had me in tears

Uf sold out all of those games, so what's your point. 2 sellouts>1 sellout, easy math.

UF doesn't get any extra money if their ratings are higher for games that are shown, so what are you talking about?

I think he means that since the game would be at a neutral site Florida loses all of the money they would get from a home game...
