ESPN 30 for 30: The "U"...How i was gonna maneuver my women around??

Dude, I'm not about to argue this w/ y'all.

This is between y'all UF dudes and Da U dudes.

I was more surprised that it hadn't been already stated.

This year the UAA reported operating income to be 6.6 million. Take away a home game every other year and that's down to 2.6. Only factoring in interest expense which is almost 3 and boom, the UAA is relying on investments to stay out of the red (not a sustainable business model). Even though UF is a state school, the athletic department doesn't take state money.
so that one away game is going to cost 4.6 million???
roll.gif

im sorry but from the outside looking in

UF is just been @#*+@

i see no other teams coming up with that sorry %@% crap to not play there in state rival

First off, I don't know where KingJames got those numbers but the gist of it is unlike other colleges who get money from the state, UF's footballprogram is the lifeblood of the entire athletic department and unless they get private money from boosters, alumni, etc. they aren't getting it. That'swhy they have to keep 7 home games at minimum cause they have to pay for all this other !+#+ on campus. And it's not an excuse, it's just how it is.

Secondly, Miami isn't our in-state rival...that school out west is. Kinda like Cal/UCLA and UCLA/USC I guess. Our rivals are in order: FSU, Tennessee, UGA,LSU and then maybe Miami, but it may be Bama moving into that spot since we could potentially end up playing the Tide 6 times in a 3 year span

. There justisn't as much history and bad blood between the Canes and Gators as their is between the Noles and Gators, I mean in the 90s almost everytime we playedFSU, a national title was on the line, not the same with Miami.

great doc.

BUT my heart cringed when they started the rivals segment with FSU...

that one clip of bobby had him looking sad...

"he put in that tape and walked out"

Chris Leak almost pulled it out too. I was wondering why would you call the same play even though there was a good chance that DB was gonna sit on the route.

I wanna see what UF gonna say next year when The "U" is back on top in the nation...... we back to getting the Miami recruits and being flashy again

UF doesn't need The U, the Canes would be the ones that need the Gators.
Why would we need UF exactly?

And last i checked........5 > 3 so fall back.

Why are you even in here? Go post in that thread about the Florida Gators documentary..........oh wait.......

The U runs Florida... dont let Gator fans fool you.

Miami was 21-4 agains the state of Florida this past decade. Including 8-3 against FSU and 4-1 against UF.

As a matter of fact... the 08 victory over Miami was Florida's first in 23 YEARS!

YES FLORIDA IS AFRAID TO PLAY THE U.

There were so many quotables it wasn't even funny....I was

when Mike Irvin was saying that the Miami Dolphins players would try to roll w. the Uplayers to get into clubs etc...

"Schnellenberger was a great coach because he took kids out of the ghetto...." Imagine if that was said today (no Griese)?

That was my only complaint.

But I can see why they left it out.

Trying to keep the focus on Miami.

Otherwise, great doc.

It's actually 4 million.

The UAA estimates revenue from each home game to be 5 million, take away .5 million to pay the the opponent to come and play (including travel expenses) andthat would be 4.5 million. Then you subtract some of those costs associated with home games let's say .5 million and you're down to 4.

(Calm down UM fans, we broke that attendance record vs UT this year).

The operating income and interest expense came from the UAA financial statements.

Because Miami plays in front of a half empty stadium every damn game. You know very well if UM played UF that stadium would be sold out (because Gator fanswould buy up a ton of tickets).
